2015 Myanmar National Sports Festival
The 2015 Myanmar National Sports Festival, officially known as 4th National Sports Festival () was the sport competition of 1 union territory, 7 regions and 7 states. It was the first time in 18 years that the festival was held, after the 3rd National Sports Festival in Yangon in 1997. The festival was held to produce new generations for all kinds of sports and to prepare for the 28th SEA Games. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd National Sports Festivals were held in 1992, 1994 and 1997 in Yangon. The festival could not be held after 1997 because of the difficulty of organising the events. Naypyidaw
Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw (; ), is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the centre of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. It is unusual among Myanmar's cities, as it is an entirely planned city outside of any state or region. The city, then known only as Pyinmana District, officially replaced Yangon as the administrative capital of Myanmar on 6 November 2005; its official name was revealed to the public on Armed Forces Day, 27 March 2006. Nyan Tun
'' Thray Sithu'' Nyan Tun ( my, ဉာဏ်ထွန်း; born 12 January 1954) is a Burmese politician who currently serves as a member of parliament in the House of Representatives for Zigon Township constituency. He previously served as Second Vice President of Myanmar from 15 August 2012 to 30 March 2016. He is a commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Navy with the rank of admiral, retired in 2012. He was elected as Second Vice President of Myanmar on 15 August 2012 following the resignation of Tin Aung Myint Oo. Early life Nyan was born on 12 January 1954 in Zigon Township, Bago Region, Myanmar to parent Sein Maung and his wife Thein Tin. Military career Nyan graduated from the 16th intake of the Defence Services Academy in 1975 and served as commander-in-chief of the Navy from June 2008. The vice-presidents of Myanmar (also known as Burma) are the second highest-ranking posts in the government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The offices were established by the 2008 Myanmar constitution and rank directly below the president. The offices came into effect on 30 March 2011, when the new government assumed ''de jure'' power and essentially function in the same manner as any other deputy head of state. There are two vice-presidential posts in the government, but no distinction is officially made between them. 2015 Southeast Asian Games
The 2015 Southeast Asian Games ( ms, Sukan Asia Tenggara 2015; ; ta, 2015 தென்கிழக்கு ஆசிய விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள்), officially known as the 28th Southeast Asian Games, or the 28th SEA Games, and commonly known as Singapore 2015, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held by the city-state of Singapore from 5 to 16 June 2015, It was the fourth time the country hosted the games. Singapore previously also hosted the games in 1973, 1983 and 1993 edition. Singapore was awarded rights to host the Southeast Asian Games in 2011. The games were held from 5 to 16 June 2015, although several events had commenced from 29 May 2015. Around 4370 athletes participated at the event, which featured 402 events in 36 sports. It was opened by Tony Tan Keng Yam, the President of Singapore at the aforementioned stadium.
