2015 Men's European Volleyball Championship
The 2015 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the 29th edition of the Men's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. It was held in Bulgaria and Italy from 9 to 18 October 2015. For the first time the competition had an official song; "Heroes" featuring vocals by Niki Bakalov. France won their first title in the tournament by defeating Slovenia, which went to the final for the first time, in straight sets. Antonin Rouzier was elected the Most Valuable Player. Antonin Rouzier
Antonin Rouzier (born 18 August 1986) is a French professional volleyball player, a former member of the France men's national volleyball team, France national team. A participant in the Olympic Games 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio 2016, 2015 Men's European Volleyball Championship, 2015 European Champion and the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League, 2015 World League winner. Personal life Rouzier was born in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, France. On July 27, 2014, Antonin married to Lili. In May 2016 his wife gave birth to their son Louis. Career In 2011–2013 Rouzier played for the Polish club ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. He won bronze (2011/2012) and silver (2012/2013) of Polish Championship, Polish Cup 2013. In season 2013/2014 moved to Piemonte Volley, Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo. After financial problems of the Italian club decided to leave team from Cuneo. Kévin Tillie (born 2 November 1990) is a French professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for Projekt Warsaw and the France national team. Tillie won a gold medal in the men's tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and is the 2015 European Champion and the 2015 World League winner. Personal life Tillie was born in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France. He is from an athletic family—his father Laurent was the head coach of the France men's national volleyball team during years, his mother Caroline played at the professional and Olympic levels (as did Laurent), his older brother Kim played college basketball with the Utah Utes and now does professionally in Europe and with France, and his younger brother Killian played on a two-way contract with the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies and its G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle. Benjamin Toniutti (born 30 October 1989) is a French professional volleyball player who plays as a setter for Jastrzębski Węgiel and the France national team. He won a gold medal in the men's tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and is the 2015 European Champion and the 2021 Champions League winner with ZAKSA. Jenia Grebennikov (born 13 August 1990) is a French volleyball player of Russian descent. He is part of the French national team, 2020 Olympic Champion, two–time World League winner (2015, 2017), 2015 European Champion. At the professional club level, he plays for the Russian team, Zenit Saint Petersburg. Personal life Jenia Grebennikov was born in Rennes, France.
