The 2015 German Figure Skating Championships (german: Deutsche Meisterschaften im Eiskunstlaufen 2015) was held on December 12–14, 2014 at the Eiswelt Stuttgart in Stuttgart. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. 2014–15 Figure Skating Season
The 2014–15 figure skating season began on July 1, 2014, and ended on June 30, 2015. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU Championship level in the 2015 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. Other elite events included the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final, and the inaugural ISU Challenger Series. Season notes Beginning in the 2014–15 season, the minimum age for senior Grand Prix and senior B events increased from 14 to 15 to match the minimum age for ISU Championship events. Aaron Van Cleave
Aaron Van Cleave (born 14 March 1987) is a German pair skater. He is best known for his partnership with Mari Vartmann for Germany. They won the 2015 German national title, the 2011 NRW Trophy, and 2010 Warsaw Cup. After they parted ways, he teamed up with Tatiana Domracheva. Personal life Van Cleave was born on 14 March 1987 in Comox, British Columbia, Canada. He was born both a Canadian and American citizen. He became a German citizen in January 2014. Career In North America Van Cleave first competed with Lauren Cowley at the Canadian Junior Championships, appearing on the juvenile level in 2002 and pre-novice in 2003. Lea Johanna Dastich (born 30 April 2000) is a retired German figure skater. She is a two-time Bavarian Open bronze medalist (2016, 2017) and a two-time German national medalist (silver in 2017, bronze in 2018). She has qualified to the final segment at four ISU Championships and finished in the top ten twice ( 2017 Junior Worlds, 2018 Junior Worlds). Catalin Dimitrescu
Catalin is a brand name for a thermosetting polymer developed and trademarked in 1927 by the American Catalin Corporation of New York City, when the patent on Bakelite expired that year. A phenol formaldehyde resin, it can be worked with files, grinders, and cutters, and polished to a fine sheen. Catalin is produced by a two-stage process, different than other types of phenolic resins, and does not contain fillers, such as sawdust or carbon black. Catalin is transparent, near colorless, rather than opaque. Unlike other phenolics, it can be produced in bright colors or even marbled. This fact has made Catalin more popular than other types of Bakelite for consumer products. Catalin is heavy, quite greasy in feel, and as hard as brass.
