2015 FIBA Oceania Women's Championship
The 2015 FIBA Oceania Championship for Women was the 16th edition of the FIBA Oceania Championship for Women. Held in August 2015, it took the form of a two-game series between the Australian Opals and New Zealand Tall Ferns. It served as the qualifying tournament of FIBA Oceania for basketball at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The first game was in Melbourne, Australia, on 15 August, the second in Tauranga, New Zealand, on 17 August. The Australian Opals won both games, and qualified for the Olympics, while the losing Tall Ferns qualified for the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women, the final qualifying tournament for the 2016 Olympics. Suzy Batkovic
Suzy Batkovic (born 17 December 1980 in Lambton, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian professional basketball player and politician. Suzy played her junior basketball with the Port Hunter Basketball Club in Newcastle. She has played basketball for several European clubs including the French Valenciennes, the Spanish side Ros Casares, the Russian side UMMC Ekaterinburg, and Italian side Cras Basket. In the United States, she has played for the Seattle Storm after having been selected as a first round draft pick in 2003. California Golden Bears Women's Basketball
The California Golden Bears women's basketball team is the women's college basketball team of the University of California, Berkeley. The program has been to the NCAA tournament a total of nine times, and won three conference championships. The current head coach is Charmin Smith, who was hired on June 21, 2019. The team plays its home games at Haas Pavilion, which was built on top of the old Harmon Gymnasium using money donated in part by the owners of Levi-Strauss. The BYU Cougars women's basketball team represents Brigham Young University in the West Coast Conference. The Cougars play their home games in the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah. History Records have been kept since the 1972–73 season. Damian James Cotter (born 1971) is an Australian basketball coach who currently serves as an assistant coach for the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. Coaching career Cotter's coaching career began in 1999 with the Knox Basketball Incorporated as a director of coaching (1999-2007) and head coach (2000-2007). Brendan Joyce (born 1 May 1960) is an Australian professional basketball coach. He has coached all levels of the game. He has been to 3 Olympic Games with both the Australian men's Boomers team 2004, 2008 and women's Opals team 2016 and 2 world championships for Boomers men 2006 in Japan and Opals women in 2014 (bronze medal).
