2015 Elon Phoenix Men's Soccer Team
The 2015 Elon Phoenix men's soccer team represented Elon University during the 2015 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 44th season of the university fielding a program, and the 13th season in NCAA Division I competition. It was the program's second season with Chris Little as head coach. Little, the sixth head coach in program history, formerly coached the Carolina Dynamo of the Premier Development League before assuming his current role at Elon. On 12 September 2015, the Phoenix defeated in-state rival Davidson 4-0 to achieve its best start in school history (5-0-0). On 22 September 2015, the team recorded a school record #8 ranking by the NSCAA after mid-week victories over #7 Wake Forest and CAA opponent Drexel. Chris Little
Chris Little is a Scottish-born football coach and former player. He is currently an assistant coach for Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids. He was previously head coach of Tacoma Defiance, the second-division affiliate of Seattle Sounders FC. He played professionally for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division and previously coached various amateur and college teams in North Carolina and Kentucky. College career Little was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and raised in the English city of Swindon. He played for the AFC Bournemouth Academy, but left at the age of 18 to pursue a college scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. During his four years at UNC Pembroke, he played 58 matches for the Braves as a midfielder and recorded 29 goals and 23 assists. South Carolina Gamecocks Men's Soccer
The South Carolina Gamecocks men's soccer team represents the University of South Carolina and, as of the upcoming 2022 college soccer season, competes in the Sun Belt Conference. The team is coached by Tony Annan, who succeeded Mark Berson as head coach after the 2020 season. Berson had been the Gamecocks' only head coach since the program's inception in 1978 and had participated in 20 NCAA Tournaments, reaching the Quarterfinals on four occasions. Since 1981, South Carolina has played its home games at Stone Stadium, which is affectionately called "The Graveyard" by South Carolina fans due to an adjoining cemetery. Elon () is a town in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington metropolitan statistical area. The population as of the 2020 census was 11,324. The town of Elon is home to Elon University. Elon began in 1881 as a North Carolina Railroad depot in between the stations of Goldsboro and Charlotte, called "Mill Point” because it was envisioned to be a shipping point for area cotton mills. The North Florida Ospreys are the athletic teams of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The Ospreys compete in the ASUN Conference in NCAA Division I.
