2015 Boels Rental Ladies Tour
The 2015 Boels Rental Ladies Tour also known as the 2015 Holland Ladies Tour is the 18th edition of the Holland Ladies Tour, a women's cycle stage race in the Netherlands. The tour is part of the 2014 women's road cycling calendar and was held 1 September to 6 September. The tour has six stages, including an individual time trial. The tour starts with the first stages in and around Tiel and concludes with a hilly stage in Limburg. The tour has an UCI rating of 2.1. Preview The favorites for the overall title are Ellen van Dijk (Boels-Dolmans), Amy Pieters (Liv-Plantur), Lucinda Brand (Rabo-Liv) and Lisa Brennauer (Velocio-SRAM). For Ellen van Dijk (who won the Tour in 2013) it his her first race after she broke her collarbone in the 2015 La Course by Le Tour de France. She had a speedy recovery and went to a high altitude training, but it is unknown what her shape is. Jolien D'hoore
Jolien D'hoore (born 14 March 1990) is a Belgian former track and road cyclist, who rode professionally between 2007 and 2021 for the , , , and teams. D'hoore is a 29-time national track champion as well as a four-time national road champion at all competition levels. She won the bronze medal in the omnium at the 2016 Olympics and during her career was one of the strongest sprinters in the women's peloton. Since retiring as a rider, D'hoore now works as a directeur sportif for UCI Women's Continental Team . Career Most notably, she won the Belgian national road race championship in 2012. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she was 5th in the Women's omnium. 's-Heerenberg
s-Heerenberg is a city on the Dutch-German border, in the Province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It is located about 5 km north of the German Emmerich, and about south of Doetinchem. It received city rights in 1379. 's-Heerenberg is the location of one of the most important castles of the Netherlands: Huis Bergh. The Huis Bergh contains a panel of the Archangel Gabriel from the famous altar piece Maestà by Duccio. The castle is surrounded to the west by a forest, part of the larger nature reserve Bergherbos. Mechteld ten Ham was accused of sorcery. She demanded a trial, and failed the water test, because she remained floating on the water. During torture, she confessed to being a witch, and was burnt at the stake on 25 July 1605. In 2004, a statue was revealed in her honour. In 2015, her statue was set on fire. Zeddam
Zeddam is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Montferland, about 7 km south of Doetinchem. Zeddam was a separate municipality until 1821, when it was merged with Bergh. History Zeddam was first mentioned between 1139 and 1148 as Sydehem. The etymology is unclear. Zeddam is located on the flank of the Paasberg along the road from 's-Heerenberg to Doetinchem. It used to belong to the Lord of Bergh. The St. Oswaldus Church has a tower from around 1500 with a 14th century base. The church dates from 1891. Castle Montferland was a castle from the 9th century. Young rider classification (french: classement général des jeunes) is a cycling jersey competition in multi-day stage race events, such as the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and many others, which awards the current leader by overall time for riders below the age of twenty-six years (or twenty-three years) depending on the race rules. At the Tour Down Under recipients are aged under twenty-six. Recipients are commonly known as the Best young rider. In stage racing, the fastest overall time of all riders below the age limit is awarded the cycling jersey, often the jersey color is white, in the same fashion the fastest time of all riders (regardless of age) is awarded in the general classification. The points classification is a secondary award category in road bicycle racing. Points are given for high finishes and, in some cases, for winning sprints at certain places along the route, most often called ''intermediate sprints''.
