2014–15 Belgian Pro League
The 2014–15 season of the Belgian Pro League (known as the ''Jupiler Pro League'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 112th season of top-tier football in Belgium. It started on 27 July 2014 and finished in May 2015. K.A.A. Gent won the league, making it the first championship title in their 115-year history. Teams Following the 2013–14 Belgian Pro League, R.A.E.C. Mons were relegated to the 2014–15 Belgian Second Division after losing their relegation playoff series against OH Leuven. Mons is replaced by 2013–14 Belgian Second Division champions K.V.C. Westerlo, who returned to the highest level after their relegation during the 2011–12 season. Sven Kums (born 26 February 1988) is a Belgian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Gent. Club career Early career Born in Asse, Kums began his career at Dilbeek Sport, before joining Anderlecht in 1996. Anderlecht He played in the youth and reserve teams for 10 years, and in 2006 he became part of the first team. In the first half of the 2006–07 season he did not feature in a single first team game. Hein Vanhaezebrouck (; born 16 February 1964) is a Belgian football manager who is currently leading K.A.A. Gent, K.A.A. Gent in the Belgian First Division A. He has a reputation of favouring an offensive style of play. Early life Vanhaezebrouck was born in Kortrijk and raised in Lauwe (Belgium), Lauwe. Career Hein Vanhaezebrouck is a former player for KV Kortrijk, KRC Harelbeke and Sporting Lokeren, among other clubs. Vanhaezebrouck left White Star Lauwe to become the coach of KV Kortrijk on 1 July 2006, replacing Manu Ferrera. In 2007–08 Vanhaezebrouck led Kortrijk to promotion to the first division football by winning the second division title. Yaya Alfa Soumahoro (born 28 September 1989) is an Ivorian former professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. Having begun his career with Séwé Sports in his native country, he joined Thai club Muangthong United in 2008. His good performances earned him a move to K.A.A. Gent in 2010.
