2015 Akron Zips Football Team
The 2015 Akron Zips football team represented the University of Akron in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Terry Bowden and played their home games at InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field. They were members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in MAC play to finish in a tie for second place in the East Division. They were invited to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, where they defeated Utah State for their first ever bowl victory. This was Akron's fourth bowl appearance. Terry Bowden
Terry Wilson Bowden (; born February 24, 1956) is an American college football coach, currently the head coach at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Bowden was previously head coach at Salem University (1983–1985), Samford University (1987–1992), Auburn University (1993–1998), the University of North Alabama (2009–2011), and the University of Akron (2012–2018). He is a son of former Florida State University head football coach Bobby Bowden and a brother of Tommy Bowden, former head football coach at Clemson University, and Jeff Bowden, the former offensive coordinator at Florida State who served as Terry's special teams coordinator at Akron. Education Bowden attended and played football for West Virginia University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, and graduated ''magna cum laude'' with a degree in accounting. 2015 Savannah State Tigers Football Team
The 2015 Savannah State Tigers football team represented Savannah State University in the 2015 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Tigers were members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). This was their third season under the guidance of head coach Earnest Wilson and the Tigers played their home games at Ted Wright Stadium. They finished the season 1–9, 1–7 in MEAC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. On February 17, head coach Earnest Wilson resigned to become the head coach at Elizabeth City State. Gillette Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is southwest of downtown Boston. It serves as the home stadium and administrative offices for both the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL) and the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer (MLS). The 2015 UMass Minutemen football team represented the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was their second year with head coach Mark Whipple. The Minutemen divided their home schedule between two stadiums. Three home games were played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts and the other three games were played on the UMass campus at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium. The 2015 Central Michigan Chippewas football team represented Central Michigan University in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by first-year head coach John Bonamego and played their home games at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. They were members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. Bowling Green is a city in and the county seat of Wood County, Ohio, United States, located southwest of Toledo. The population was 30,028 at the 2010 census. Doyt L. Perry Stadium is a stadium on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Bowling Green Falcons football team. It opened in 1966 and originally held 23,232 people. History On October 1, 1966, the stadium opened with a 13–0 win over Dayton. The stadium was named for Doyt Perry, a highly successful coach and athletic director at the school. It was meant to replace University Stadium, a WPA stadium in the heart of campus which lasted 43 seasons. In 1975 the stadium hosted the Poe Ditch Music Festival. Rynearson Stadium, nicknamed "The Factory", is a stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Eastern Michigan University Eagles. Currently, the stadium has seating for 30,200 people. Standing room is available in the south end zone, allowing for crowds larger than the listed capacity.
