2014–15 Super League Greece
The 2014–15 Super League Greece was the 79th season of the highest tier in league of Greek football and the ninth under its current title. The season began on 23 August and ended on 11 May 2015. Olympiacos won their 42nd Greek title. The league comprises sixteen teams from the 2013–14 season and two promoted from the 2013–14 Football League. Teams Two teams were relegated from the 2013–14 season. Apollon Smyrnis and Aris will play in Football League for the 2014–15 season. Two teams were promoted from the 2013–14 Football League, champions Niki Volos and Kerkyra. Niki Volos were promoted back to the top level for the first time in 48 years. Super League Greece
The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in 1927, only six clubs have won the title. The current champions are Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. The 2013–14 Super League Greece was the 78th season of the highest football league of Greece and the eighth under the name Super League. The season began on 17 August and ended in May 2014. Olympiacos are the champions, having won their 41st Greek championship. The league comprises fourteen teams from the 2012–13 season and four promoted teams from the 2012–13 Football League. Teams Two teams were relegated at the end of the 2012–13 season. AEK Athens and Kerkyra were already mathematically assured of relegation to the 2013–14 Football League. Kerkyra finished 3 years of spell in the top level while AEK faced first relegation to second division after 89 years. Platanias (Greek: Πλατανιάς) is a village and municipality on the Greek island of Crete. It is located about west from the city of Chania and east of Kissamos, on Chania Bay. The seat of the municipality is the village Gerani. Panthrakikos Football Club ( el, Α.Π.Σ. Πανθρακικός) is a Greek football club based in Komotini, Thrace in North Eastern Greece founded in 1963. The club competed in Super League Greece during the 2008–09 season for the first time. History Early years (1963–2001) Panthrakikos F.C. was formed in the town of Komotini in 1963. Athlitiki Enosis Komotini (Athletic Union of Komotini) which was founded in 1936, and Orpheus Komotini which was founded in 1948 were merged with Panthrakikos in 1963 and 1964 respectively. Levadiakos Football Club ( el, ΠΑΕ Λεβαδειακός) is a Greek professional football club that plays in the Super League Greece. Based in Livadeia, Greece, the club was promoted to the Alpha Ethniki, forerunner of the Super League, after ten seasons in minor divisions in the 2005–06 season, as runner-up of the Football League in 2004–05. Kalloni ( el, Καλλονή) is a town in the west-central part of the island of Lesbos, Greece. It is the seat of the West Lesbos municipality and the Kalloni municipal unit within it. 2013–14 Football League (Greece)
The 2013–14 Football League is the second division of the Greek professional football system and the fourth season under the name Football League after previously being known as ''Beta Ethniki''. This is the first season after 1982–83 that the league has more than one groups. The groups are created based on geographical criteria. North Group In the north group, as well as in the south group, the bottom three teams are relegated. None of the teams will be promoted directly. The top four teams of each group will qualify to a playoff round, to determine the three teams which will be promoted to Super League. Teams # Since AEK Athens, Panserraikos, AEL were relegated to Football League 2 and Kerkyra with Kassiopi were merged, the teams became 24 and Vataniakos, Zakynthos, Paniliakos and Glyfada had to get promoted in order to fill the empty spots in Football League.
