2014–15 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2014–15 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was the 57th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the premier domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. It was contested by 26 teams representing 14 regional associations and 12 departments. The Pakistan Cricket Board made major changes to the structure of the domestic first-class competitions for the 2014–15 season. For the first time in three years, all teams competed in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which was split into two divisions – named as the Gold and Silver leagues; the departments had competed in their own President's Trophy for the previous two seasons. There was also a change to the ball, with Pakistan's Gray's of Cambridge replacing Kookaburra as the competition's supplier. Pakistan Cricket Board
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Cricket matches were arranged informally until 1948, when a Board of Control was formally instituted. 2013–14 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2013–14 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was one of two first-class domestic cricket competitions that were held in Pakistan during the 2013–14 season. It was the 56th edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, and was contested by fourteen teams representing regional cricket associations. It ran concurrently with the President's Trophy, which was contested by ten departmental teams. Rawalpindi won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for the first time defeating Islamabad in the final. Format The format of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy remained unchanged from the previous season, with the fourteen regional teams divided into two groups. After a series of round-robin matches, the top four teams from each group proceeded to the Super-Eight stage of the competition, with the remaining six teams entering the "bottom six stage". Kamran Akmal (Urdu, pa, ; born 13 January 1982) is a Pakistani former cricketer, who played for Pakistan as a right-handed batsman & wicketkeeper. Fawad Tariq Alam (Urdu: فواد عالم, born 8 October 1985) is a Pakistani cricketer and actor who plays for Sindh cricket team, Sindh and the Pakistan national cricket team. Mohammad Rizwan (Urdu, ps, ; born 1 June 1992) is a Pakistani international cricketer who has represented Pakistan in international cricket since 2015. Rizwan is the only batter to score 2000 runs in a calendar year in T20s. Draw (cricket)
The result in a game of cricket may be a "win" for one of the two teams playing, or a "tie".
