2014–15 Major Arena Soccer League Season
The 2014–15 Major Arena Soccer League season was the seventh season for the league and the first since six teams from the former Major Indoor Soccer League defected to what was formerly called the Professional Arena Soccer League. The regular season started on October 25, 2014, and ended on March 1, 2015. Each team played a 20-game schedule. Also it was the 37th season of professional Division 1 indoor soccer in the USA and the first season for the MASL as the top league. Standings As of March 1, 2015 (Bold) Division Winner Eastern Conference Western Conference Dropped out of league on December 23, 2014. Dropped out of league on January 15, 2015. The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) is a North American professional indoor soccer league. The MASL features teams playing coast-to-coast in the United States and Mexico. MASL is the highest level of arena soccer in North America. MASL players generally earn salaries ranging from $15,000–45,000 per season, but former USMNT and MLS star Landon Donovan earned as much as $250,000 to play one year in 2019. History The league was organized as the Professional Arena Soccer League on May 18, 2008, as an offshoot of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL-Premier), the largest amateur league in the United States. Blue Cross Arena, also known as the War Memorial, is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Rochester, New York. For hockey and lacrosse, its seating capacity is 10,662. The Tacoma Stars are an American soccer organization that fields teams in both the indoor soccer Major Arena Soccer League and the National Premier Soccer League. Seattle Impact FC was an American professional indoor soccer team that began play as a member of the Major Arena Soccer League with its 2014-15 season. Based in Seattle, Washington, the Impact played its home games at the ShoWare Center in nearby Kent. After struggles on and off the field, the team's assets were sold mid-season to Lane Smith whose Tacoma Stars completed Seattle's scheduled 2015 regular season games. San Diego Sockers are an American professional indoor soccer franchise playing in the Western Division of the Major Arena Soccer League, representing the San Diego area since 2009. Hidalgo La Fiera (also known as "La Fiera FC") was an American professional indoor soccer team based in Hidalgo, Texas. They played in the Southern Division of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). The team was founded in 2012 as the Rio Grande Valley Flash when the Monterrey Flash left the Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rápido Profesional to move to Texas and the Professional Arena Soccer League.
