2014–15 Linafoot
The 2014–15 Linafoot season (known as the Vodacom Superligue 2014–15 for sponsorship reasons) is the 54th since its establishment. It began on 4 October 2014. A total of 20 clubs participate in the 2014–15 Linafoot. Linafoot
The Vodacom Ligue 1 is the top division of the Congolese Association Football Federation, the governing body of football (soccer), football in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was created in 1958. In 2013, the highest attendance was set in the match DC Motema Pembe - AS Vita Club, which saw an attendance of 80,000 football fans at Stade des Martyrs. TP Mazembe is the most successful club with 19 titles. In 2010 the competition was renamed the ''Vodacom Super League'' following the signing of a five-year sponsorship deal with communications company Vodacom. Daring Club Motema Pembe
Daring Club Motema Pembe, or simply DCMP for a short, is a Congolese football club based in Kinshasa. History Created in 1936 under the name Falcon Daring, by the Rev. Father Raphaël de la Kethulle de Ryhove who was a missionary of the Congregation of Scheutistes. He recruited most of its players among college students Sainte-Anne in Kinshasa (currently Elikya college). The DCMP was renamed CS Imana in 1949 before assuming the name of Daring Club Motema Pembe Imana (Imana DCMP) in 1985. With 27 titles at national level since 1963, the DCMP is currently the most successful national club of the DRC. TP Mazembe has more trophies if you include international titles won with 35. Boma, Democratic Republic Of The Congo
Boma is a port town on the Congo River, some upstream from the Atlantic Ocean, in the Kongo Central province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, adjacent to the border with Angola. It had an estimated population of 162,521 in 2012. Boma was the capital city of the Congo Free State and Belgian Congo (the modern Democratic Republic of the Congo) from 1 May 1886 to 1923, when the capital was moved to Léopoldville (since renamed Kinshasa). The port handles exports of tropical timber, bananas, cacao, and palm products. History Boma was founded by European merchants in the 16th century as an entrepôt, including for the slave trade. Goma
Goma is the capital of North Kivu province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is located on the northern shore of Lake Kivu, next to the Rwandan city of Gisenyi. The lake and the two cities are in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift system. Goma lies only south of the active Nyiragongo Volcano. The recent history of Goma has been dominated by the volcano and the Rwandan genocide of 1994, which in turn fuelled the First and Second Congo Wars. The aftermath of these events was still having effects on the city and its surroundings in 2010. The city was captured by rebels of the March 23 Movement during the M23 rebellion in late 2012, but it has since been retaken by government forces. Beni, Democratic Republic Of The Congo
Beni is a city in north eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, lying immediately west of the Virunga National Park and the Rwenzori Mountains, on the edge of the Ituri Forest. Overview Beni is home to a market, an airport and the Christian Bilingual University of Congo (UCBC). As of 2013 it had an estimated population of 231,952. Beni contains four ''communes'', or municipalities: Beni, Bungulu, Ruwenzori and Mulekera. The town was the scene of fierce fighting in the Second Congo War around 2001. Beni also has many MONUC bases; elements of the Indian-led North Kivu Brigade are based in the town. Association Sportive Bantous is a Congolese football club based in Mbuji-Mayi, Kasai-Oriental province and currently playing in the Linafoot Ligue 2, the second level of the Congolese football. History AS Bantous was founded in 1961 and they have won the Linafoot, the most important football league in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1995.
