2014–15 Chinese Basketball Association Season
The 2014–15 CBA season was the 20th Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season. The Jiangsu Tongxi Monkey Kings and Chongqing Fly Dragons were "promoted" to the CBA, becoming the league's 19th and 20th teams. Two clubs also altered or changed their mascots, with the Foshan Dralions opting to be called the Foshan Long-Lions in English, while the Shandong Gold Lions became the Shandong Golden Stars. The regular season began on Saturday, November 1, 2014 with the Beijing Ducks hosting the Guangdong Southern Tigers. The 2015 CBA All-Star Game was played on January 18, 2015, at the Beijing National Indoor Stadium in Beijing. The regular season ended on Sunday, February 1, 2015, and the playoffs began on Friday, February 6, 2015. Beijing National Indoor Stadium
The National Indoor Stadium (official name) ()Official Beijing Olympics siteNational Indoor Stadium is an indoor stadium that is located in the Olympic Green in Beijing, China. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people, and was constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It is nicknamed ''the Fan'' (扇子, ''shànzi'') due to its design resembling a traditional Chinese folding fan. History The stadium opened its doors on November 26, 2007, for the artistic Gymnastics test event. It is also used for basketball. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, it hosted the artistic gymnastics, trampolining, and handball events. After the Olympics, the stadium is used for sports competition, cultural and entertaining purposes, and serves as a multi-functional exercise center for local residents. Will Bynum
William Bynum (born January 4, 1983) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Arizona and Georgia Tech before going undrafted in the 2005 NBA draft. He was the 2007 Israeli Basketball Premier League Finals MVP. High school career Bynum attended Chicago's Crane High School, where he played for coach Anthony Longstreet. As a junior in 1999–2000, he averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game as he led the Cougars to a 20–9 record and helped them advance to the Class AA Elite Eight, going on to earn all-state honors. On November 14, 2000, Bynum signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball for the University of Arizona. John Lucas III
John Harding Lucas III (born November 21, 1982) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is currently an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Baylor and Oklahoma State. Early life Born in Washington, D.C. to former NBA player and coach John Lucas II and his wife DeEdgra, Lucas lived in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania for a time as a youth. Fujian Sturgeons
Fujian SBS Xunxing Sturgeons (Simplified Chinese: 福建SBS浔兴鲟) or Fujian Xunxing or Fujian SBS are a Chinese professional men's basketball team in the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian. The "SBS" reflects corporate sponsorship from the Jinjiang-based Fujian SBS Zipper Science and Technology Corporation. Unlike all the other teams in the CBA, the team originally had no English–friendly animal–type nickname. They have since begun using the name Sturgeons. The Fujian Sturgeons made their debut in the 2004–2005 season, and finished in seventh and last place in the South Division, out of the playoffs. Fadi El Khatib
Fadi El Khatib ( ar, فادي الخطيب; born January 1, 1979), nicknamed "the Lebanese Tiger", is a Lebanese professional basketball player who plays in the Lebanese Basketball League for Sagesse. El Khatib played for several teams in the Lebanese Basketball League, and also played abroad in Syria, Ukraine and China. He was also a member of the Lebanon national team that finished runners-up in the FIBA Asia Championship three times, in 2001, 2005 and 2007. El Khatib also participated in the FIBA World Championship in 2002, 2006 and 2010. Viacheslav "Slava" Kravtsov ( uk, В’ячеслав Кравцов; born 25 August 1987) is a Ukrainian professional basketball player for the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers of the P. League+. He also represents the Ukrainian national basketball team. Professional career Kravtsov played in the Ukrainian basketball league for BC Kyiv from 2005 to 2010. Kravtsov declared for the 2009 NBA draft, but after not being selected by a team, he returned to Kyiv to play one additional season. Ikechukwu Somtochukwu Diogu (born September 11, 1983) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player for Piratas de La Guaira of the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto in Venezuela. Robert Douglas Brown (born September 24, 1984) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the NBA G League Ignite of the NBA G League. Arsalan Kazemi Naeini ( fa, ارسلان کاظمی نائینی; born 22 April 1990) is an Iranian professional basketball player for Chemidor Qom of the Iranian Basketball Super League. He played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks and the Rice Owls basketball teams.
