2014–15 Bundesliga (women)
The 2014–15 Bundesliga was the 52nd season of the Bundesliga, Germany's premier football competition. The season started on 22 August 2014 and the final matchday took place on 23 May 2015. Bayern Munich won their 25th German title on 26 April 2015. Background Bayern Munich came into the season as defending champions, winning the championship on 25 March 2014 against Hertha BSC. Armin Veh announced that he was leaving Eintracht Frankfurt during the 2013–14 season. He had demanded that the club invest more money in the squad. Thomas Schaaf replaced Veh. Bayer Leverkusen sacked Sami Hyypiä during the 2013–14 season. Sascha Lewandowski was named interim manager. The Bundesliga (; ), sometimes referred to as the Fußball-Bundesliga () or 1. Bundesliga (), is a professional association football league in Germany. Roger Schmidt (football Manager)
Roger Schmidt (; born 13 March 1967) is a German professional football manager and former player. He currently manages Primeira Liga club Benfica. He played as a midfielder in Germany's amateur regional leagues, where he began his managerial career before joining SC Paderborn 07 of the 2. Bundesliga in 2011 and Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga in 2014. He won the league and cup double with Red Bull Salzburg in 2014, as well as cups with Beijing Sinobo Guoan in 2018 and PSV Eindhoven in 2022. Football career Playing and early managerial career Born in Kierspe, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schmidt played as a midfielder for clubs in the region's leagues. Sascha Lewandowski
Sascha Lewandowski (5 October 1971 – 8 June 2016) was a German football manager. Managerial career Lewandowski was head coach of VfL Bochum II between 1 July 2006 to 31 December 2006. Lewandowski was appointed as head coach of Bayer Leverkusen in April 2012 alongside Sami Hyypiä. After the 2012–13 season, Lewandowski went back to the youth set–up, leaving Hyypia as the sole head coach of the first team. He finished with a record of 29 wins, 11 draws, and 11 losses. Hyypiä took sole charge of the team on 24 June 2013. Lewandowski became the interim head coach of the first team after Sami Hyypiä was sacked. The 2013–14 Bayer 04 Leverkusen season is the 110th season in the club's football history. Background Background information In the 2012–13 season, Bayer Leverkusen finished in third place in the Bundesliga. As the third place team, they qualified for the group stage of Champions League. During the off-season Kostas Stafylidis, Robbie Kruse, Andrés Palop, Son Heung-min and Emre Can were signed. Sami Hyypiä
Sami Tuomas Hyypiä (; born 7 October 1973) is a Finnish football manager and former defender. Hyypiä began his playing career with Ykkönen side Kumu and soon moved to Veikkausliiga outfit MyPa. He spent four years at the club, helping them win the Finnish Cup in 1992 and 1995. He moved to Willem II in 1995 and spent the next four years there. He became the team captain and was nominated their player of the year after helping them qualify for the UEFA Champions League. In 1999, he moved to Liverpool, the team he supported as a child, in a deal worth £2.6 million. He quickly established himself in the first team, partnering Stéphane Henchoz in defence. By 2001, he regularly captained the team and that season Liverpool won a slew of honours, completing a cup treble of the League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup, in addition to winning the UEFA Super Cup and FA Community Shield.
