Portuguese Television
Television in Portugal was introduced in 1956 (test broadcasts) by Radiotelevisão Portuguesa (now named Rádio e Televisão de Portugal), which held the nationwide television monopoly until late 1992. Regular broadcasting was introduced on March 7, 1957. Colour transmissions were introduced on March 10, 1980. Digital terrestrial television (DTT) was introduced at a very late stage when compared to other countries in Europe and with limited channels, and according to the European Audiovisual Observatory it occupies the last place in 34 European countries with the weakest offer on digital terrestrial television, in such a way that most Portuguese are subscribers of cable (HFC) or IPTV (DSL or FTTH) platforms, in percentages higher than in the rest of Europe and these platforms are well developed with many channels. Secret Story 4 (Portugal)
''Secret Story - Casa dos Segredos 4'' is the fourth season of the Portuguese reality television show '' Secret Story''. It is based on the French version of '' Secret Story'', which itself is based on the international format, ''Big Brother''. All episodes will be broadcast on TVI. It started on 29 September. The opening gala coincided with televised broadcasts of the results of the just-ended local government election. Despite being one of the most highly contested local government elections, with near-record voter turnout, The show enjoyed an impressive 39,9% audience share, 1.7 million viewers. The Voice Portugal
''The Voice Portugal'' (''A Voz de Portugal'' in the first season) is a Portuguese reality singing competition and local version of '' The Voice'', originally broadcast as '' The Voice of Holland''. It premiered on 29 October 2011, on RTP1, with the first-season finale airing on 25 February 2012, crowning Denis Filipe as the winner. The show came back in 2014 with its second season with new coaches, a new co-host, a new show name, and new ''Repórteres V'' (backstage hosts). The winner of the second season was Rui Drumond. RTP1 later announced the first season of '' The Voice Kids'' and the third season of the main show. The third season premiered on 11 October 2015 with a new coach, Aurea. RTP1
RTP1 (''RTP um'') is a Portuguese free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP). It is the company's flagship television channel, and is known for broadcasting mainstream and generalist programming, including '' Telejornal'' news bulletins, prime time drama, cinema and entertainment, and major breaking news, sports and special events. It was launched on 7 March 1957 as the first regular television service in Portugal. It was the only one until 25 December 1968, when RTP launched a second channel. Two regional channels followed, RTP Madeira on 6 August 1972 and RTP Açores on 10 August 1975. AMC (European TV Channel)
AMC is a European TV channel launched by AMC Networks International. AMC replaced the MGM Channel on 5 November 2014, but in Poland on 6 May 2016. AMC-produced dramas ''Halt & Catch Fire'' and '' The Divide'' are among the first original series that premiered on the channel. The channel also airs films from MGM, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The channel launched in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2015, in partnership with BT TV and branded AMC from BT. Until 2019, Sky customers in the UK had access to the channel if they subscribed to BT Sport, but was subsequently removed from the platform on 2 October 2019, making the channel exclusive to BT TV subscribers.
