2014 Women's U22 South American Volleyball Championship
The 2014 Women's U22 South American Volleyball Championship was the 1st edition of the tournament, organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). The championship took place 20–24 August in Popayán, Colombia. The event served as a rating for the 2015 FIVB Women's U23 Volleyball World Championship. The Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV) (Portuguese: ) is the continental governing body for the sports of volleyball in South America. Its headquarters is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Profile The CSV's origins are still under dispute. Some argue it was founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 12, 1946; some, that it was founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 3 of the same year. Either way, it was formed even before the FIVB itself, and stands as the oldest of all volleyball continental confederations. The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was held in Ankara, Turkey, from 12 to 19 August 2015. This was the second edition of the tournament. Competition formula The competition format will see the 12 teams split into two pools of six teams playing in round robin format. The semifinals will feature the top two teams from each pool.
