2014 Toledo Rockets Football Team
The 2014 Toledo Rockets football team represented the University of Toledo in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by head coach Matt Campbell in his third full year after coaching the Rockets in the 2011 Military Bowl. They played their home games at the Glass Bowl and were members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 9–4, 7–1 in MAC play to finish in a tie for the West Division title with Northern Illinois. Due to their head-to-head loss to Northern Illinois, they did not represent the West Division in the MAC Championship Game. They were invited to the GoDaddy Bowl where they defeated Arkansas State. Matt Campbell (American Football Coach)
Matthew Allen Campbell (born November 29, 1979) is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach at Iowa State University, a position he has held since the 2016 season. Campbell was head football coach at the University of Toledo from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, Campbell had been an assistant at Toledo, Bowling Green, and Mount Union. Campbell grew up in Ohio and briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to Mount Union, where he played defensive line. Playing career Campbell was born in Massillon, Ohio. His father Rick coached football at Jackson High School. Matt played football at rival Perry, which won three conference championships while he was on the team. Campbell initially attended the University of Pittsburgh on an athletic scholarship in 1998, but transferred to the University of Mount Union after a year. 2014 UMass Minutemen Football Team
The 2014 UMass Minutemen football team represented the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was their first year with head coach Mark Whipple, who returned after 10 years coaching in the NFL. The Minutemen divided their home schedule between two stadiums. Three home games were played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The other three were played on the UMass campus at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium, which reopened after a renovation to bring the facility up to FBS standards. Jack Trice Stadium (originally Cyclone Stadium and formerly Jack Trice Field, sometimes referred to as "the Jack") is a stadium located in Ames, Iowa, United States. Primarily used for college football, it is the home field of the Iowa State Cyclones. It is named in honor of Jack Trice, Iowa State's first African American athlete, who died of injuries sustained during a 1923 game against Minnesota. Waldo Stadium is a stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is primarily used for football, and has been the home of Western Michigan University Broncos football in rudimentary form since 1914, and as a complete stadium since 1939. It currently has a capacity of 30,200 spectators. History The stadium was built at a cost of $250,000 ($4.3 million in 2016), and it opened in 1939 with a 6–0 win over Miami University. The 2014 Western Michigan Broncos football team represented Western Michigan University (WMU) in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by second-year head coach P. J.
