2014 Tennessee Volunteers Football Team
The 2014 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was the 118th overall season, 81st as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and its 23rd within the SEC Eastern Division. The team was coached by Butch Jones in his second season with Tennessee, and played its home games at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. The Vols finished the regular season at 6–6, 3–5 in the SEC, making them bowl-eligible for the first time since 2010. On December 7, 2014, it was announced that the Vols would face the Iowa Hawkeyes (7–5) in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 2, 2015. In that game, the Vols, with Joshua Dobbs leading the team as the quarterback, struck quickly and hammered away at the Hawkeyes to secure a 45–28 win, marking Tennessee's first winning season since 2009. Butch Jones
Lyle Allen "Butch" Jones Jr. (born January 17, 1968) is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at Arkansas State University. Jones previously served as a special assistant to the head coach and offensive analyst at the University of Alabama from 2018 to 2020, the head coach at the University of Tennessee from 2013 to 2017, the University of Cincinnati from 2010 to 2012 and Central Michigan University from 2007 to 2009. Curt Maggitt
Curt Maggitt (born February 4, 1993) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Tennessee and signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Early years Maggitt attended and played high school football at William T. Dwyer High School. He played for the Panthers under head coach Jack Daniels. Justin Coleman
Justin Jamal Coleman (born March 27, 1993) is an American football cornerback and nickelback for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Tennessee, and signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Justin Worley
Justin Scott Worley (born November 20, 1992) is a former American football quarterback. Worley played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. Early years Worley attended Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he played high school football and was teammates with wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. As a sophomore, Worley helped lead Northwestern High School to the state championship game against town-rival South Pointe High School. Michael Albert Palardy (born July 6, 1992) is an American football punter who is a free agent. He played college football at Tennessee and was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
