2014 Spengler Cup
The 2014 Spengler Cup was an ice hockey competition held in Davos, Switzerland from December 26 to December 31, 2014. All matches were played at HC Davos's home known as Vaillant Arena. Six competing teams were split into two groups of three (in the round-robin series). The two groups, named Torriani and Cattini, were named after legendary Swiss hockey players Richard 'Bibi' Torriani and the Cattini brothers, Hans and Ferdinand. The Canada men's national ice hockey team (popularly known as Team Canada; french: Équipe Canada) is the ice hockey team representing Canada internationally. The team is overseen by Hockey Canada, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. From 1920 until 1963, Canada's international representation was by senior amateur club teams. Ilkka Heikkinen (born November 13, 1984 in Rauma, Finland) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for Växjö Lakers Hockey of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Heikkinen developed within his hometown club of Lukko before making his professional SM-liiga debut in the 2003–04 season. After 4 season's in the top league with Lukko Ilkka moved to rival HIFK for two years, scoring a career high 37 points in the 2007–08 season. Anton Vladimirovich Slepyshev (russian: Антон Владимирович Слепышев born 13 May 1994) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward for CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He previously played for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. Playing career Slepyshev was selected first overall in the 2011 KHL Junior Draft by Metallurg Novokuznetsk. Inti Pestoni (born August 8, 1991) is a Swiss professional ice hockey winger who is currently playing with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the National League (NL). Playing career Brought up as a youth within the Ambri-Piotta club, Pestoni was re-signed to a further two-year contract extension on February 27, 2012, to remain under contract with Ambri until 2016. In December 2013, Pestoni was loaned to Genève-Servette HC for the 2013 Spengler Cup, which he would eventually win. He played a huge role in the title, tallying 4 points (1G/3A) in 4 games.
