2014 Palmer Cup
The 2014 Palmer Cup was held on 26–28 June 2014 at Walton Heath Golf Club near Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey, England. Europe won 18½–11½. Format On Thursday, there were five matches of foursomes matches in the morning, followed by five four-balls in the afternoon. Ten singles matches were played on Friday, and ten more on Saturday.. In all, 24 matches were played. Each of the 30 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole, each side earned half a point toward their team total. The team that accumulated at least 15½ points won the competition. Walton Heath Golf Club
Walton Heath Golf Club is a golf club in England, near Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey, southwest of London. Founded in 1903, the club comprises two 18-hole golf courses, both of which are well known for having heather covering many of the areas of rough. The ''Old Course'' opened in 1904, and (as of 2009) has a championship length of . The ''New Course'' opened as a 9-hole course in 1907 and was extended to 18 holes in 1913; its championship length in 2009 was . Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2023 event will be held from June 10 to 12 at Laurel Valley Golf Club, near Ligonier, Pennsylvania. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. Ricardo Melo Gouveia (born 6 August 1991) is a Portuguese professional golfer. Gouveia played college golf at Lynn University and the University of Central Florida.
