2014 New Mexico Lobos Football Team
The 2014 New Mexico Lobos football team represented the University of New Mexico in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Lobos were led by third-year head coach Bob Davie. They played their home games at University Stadium and were members of the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 4–8, 2–6 in Mountain West play to finish in a tie for fifth place in the Mountain Division. Bob Davie (American Football)
Robert Edwin Davie Jr. (born September 30, 1954) is an American football college coach and former player, formerly the head football coach at New Mexico. He previously served as the head football coach at Notre Dame from 1997 to 2001, compiling a record of 35–25. He also served as an ESPN college football color commentator from 2002 to 2011. Early life and playing career Robert Edwin Davie Jr. was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Robert Sr. and June. Davie was raised in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. As a student at Moon Area High School, Davie excelled in sports, lettering three times each in football, baseball, and basketball. During his senior year, Davie served as captain of both the football and basketball teams. The same year, his elder brother died of cancer. ''ESPN College Football Friday Primetime'' is a live game presentation of Division I-FBS college football on ESPN or sometimes ESPN2 and ESPNU. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, games air on ABC. There is no main sponsor. The game telecast airs every Friday night during the college football regular season. In 2022, the games will be announced by Roy Philpott and Andre Ware with Paul Carcaterra as the sideline reporter. Sam Boyd Stadium
Sam Boyd Stadium (formerly the Las Vegas Silver Bowl) is a football stadium in the western United States, located in Whitney, Nevada, an unincorporated community in the Las Vegas Valley. It honors Sam Boyd (1910–1993), a major figure in the hotel and casino industry in Las Vegas. The stadium consisted of an uncovered horseshoe-shaped single-decked bowl, with temporary seating occasionally erected in the open north end zone. The artificial turf field had a conventional north–south orientation, at an elevation of above sea level. The 2014 UNLV Rebels football team represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Rebels were led by fifth year head coach Bobby Hauck and played their home games at Sam Boyd Stadium. They were members of the West Division of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 2–11, 1–7 in Mountain West play to finish in last place in the West Division. At the end of the season, head coach Bobby Hauck resigned. Falcon Stadium is an outdoor football stadium in the western United States, on the campus of the U.S. Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is the home field of the Air Force Falcons of the Mountain West Conference, and also holds the academy's graduation ceremonies each spring. The ''Albuquerque Journal'' is the largest newspaper in the U.S. state of New Mexico. History The ''Golden Gate'' newspaper was founded in June 1880. In the fall of 1880, the owner of the ''Golden Gate'' died and Journal Publishing Company was created. Journal Publishing changed the paper name to ''Albuquerque Daily Journal'' and issued its first edition of the ''Albuquerque Daily Journal'' on October 14, 1880. The 2014 San Diego State Aztecs football team represented San Diego State University in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Aztecs were led by fourth-year head coach Rocky Long and played their home games at Qualcomm Stadium. They were members of the West Division of the Mountain West Conference.
