2014 National League Division Series
The National League Division Series was two best-of-five-game series to determine the participating teams in the 2014 National League Championship Series. The Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals (seeded 1–3 based on record, respectively) and San Francisco Giants—played in two series. Fox Sports 1 carried most of the games, with two of the games on MLB Network. These matchups were: * (1) Washington Nationals (East Division champion, 96–66) vs. (5) San Francisco Giants (Wild Card Winner, 88–74): Giants win series 3–1. * (2) Los Angeles Dodgers (West Division champion, 94–68) vs. (3) St. Louis Cardinals (Central Division champion, 90–72): Cardinals win series 3–1. The Giants would go on to defeat the Cardinals in the NLCS, then win the 2014 World Series, defeating the American League champion Kansas City Royals. Ken Rosenthal (born September 19, 1962) is an American sportswriter and reporter. He serves as a field reporter for ''Fox Major League Baseball'' since 2005, and was an in-studio reporter for MLB Network from 2009 to 2022. Since August 2017, he is a senior baseball writer for ''The Athletic''. Career Beginnings Rosenthal graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. Dale Allan Scott (born August 14, 1959) is an American former umpire (baseball), umpire in Major League Baseball. He worked in the American League from 1986 to 1999, and officiated in both leagues from 2000 until his retirement after the 2017 season. He became a crew chief in 2001. Harry Hunter Wendelstedt III (born June 22, 1971) is an American baseball umpire who has worked in the National League in 1998–1999 and throughout both major leagues since 2000. His father Harry Hunter Wendelstedt, Jr. was an NL umpire from 1966 to 1998. Hunter Wendelstedt goes by his middle name to avoid confusion with his father. Victor Joseph Carapazza (born July 6, 1979) is an American Major League Baseball umpire. He wears uniform number 19, and previously wore uniform number 85. Personal life Carapazza was born in Port Jefferson, New York. In 1998 he graduated from Countryside High School in Clearwater, Florida.
