2014 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2014 NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament was the tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of women's college basketball among its Division I members in the United States and Canada for the 2013–14 basketball season. Oklahoma City defeated Freed–Hardeman in the championship game, 80–76, to claim the Stars' seventh NAIA national title. The tournament was played at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. Qualification The tournament field remained fixed at thirty-two teams, which were sorted into four quadrants of eight teams each. Within each quadrant, teams were seeded sequentially from one to eight based on record and season performance. The tournament continued to utilize a simple single-elimination format. Frankfort Convention Center
The Frankfort Convention Center was a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Frankfort, Kentucky, United States, USA. It hosted locals sporting events and concerts. It was opened as part of the Capital Plaza urban renewal project in the 1970s. The arena's original name was the Farnham Dudgeon Civic Center. In January 2018, demolition on the facility started. Demolition was completed in Spring 2018. No replacement for the convention center were planned, and on 2022 there are still no plans to build a replacement. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), known locally as the Lake, is a private Catholic university in San Antonio, Texas. Talladega College is a private historically black college in Talladega, Alabama. It is Alabama's oldest private historically black college and offers 17 degree programs. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Langston University (LU) is a public land-grant historically black university in Langston, Oklahoma. It is the only historically black college in the state. Westmont College is a private Christian liberal arts college in Montecito, California. It was founded in 1937. History Ruth Kerr, owner and CEO of the Kerr Glass Manufacturing Company, established the school as the Bible Missionary Institute in 1937 on the former Westlake School for Girls campus near Downtown Los Angeles.
