2014 Men's Hockey Investec Cup
The 2014 Men's Hockey Investec Cup was a men's field hockey tournament held at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. It took place between 9–13 July 2014 in London, England. A total of four teams competed for the title. England won the tournament by defeating Ireland 4–2 in a penalty shoot-out following a 2–2 draw in the final. South Africa won the bronze medal by defeating Scotland 3–0 in the third and fourth playoff. Simon Mantell
Simon Douglas Mantell (born 24 April 1984) is an English field hockey forward. He is the younger brother of Richard Mantell. Mantell currently plays for Exeter University Hockey Club. Mantell made his international senior debut for the national squad on 9 November 2005 versus Ireland at Beeston. He was a member of the England squad that finished fifth at the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup. He competed at the 2010 and 2011 Champions Trophy, and was also part of the winning squad at the 2009 EuroHockey Championship. Mantell has also represented Great Britain and was part of the side that returned victorious from the Olympic qualifying event in Chile, as well as competing at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Harry John Martin (born 23 October 1992) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for HC Rotterdam and the England and Great Britain national teams. His sister, Hannah Martin is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for England and Great Britain. Club career For the 2021–22 season he returns to play club hockey in the Dutch Hoofdklasse for HC Rotterdam, for whom he enjoyed a successful 2016–17 season. Alastair Richard "Ali" Brogdon (born 10 November 1987) is a British and English field hockey player who competed at 2016 Rio Olympics for Team GB. Brogdon made his international debut in 2006 and received his 100th England cap against Argentina at the 2014 Champions Trophy. He was part of the 2009 gold medal winning England side at the EuroHockey Championships. He competed for England in the men's hockey tournament at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal. Austin Smith (field Hockey)
Austin Charles Smith (born 20 May 1985) is a South African field hockey player who plays as a defender for Dutch club HC Den Bosch and formerly the South African national team. In late 2021, Austin Smith announced his retirement from International Hockey. Smith has been a substitute supervisor and teacher in the International School Eindhoven in recent years. Smith competed for South Africa at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2010 and 2014 Hockey World Cups, and at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. Barry Middleton
Barry John Middleton (born 12 January 1984) is regarded as one of the greatest British field hockey players in history. He played as a midfielder and forward for England and Great Britain and is the most capped British hockey player in history and captained his country for many years.
