2014 Liberty Bowl
The 2014 Liberty Bowl was an American college football bowl game played on December 29, 2014, at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. The 56th edition of the Liberty Bowl, it featured the Texas A&M Aggies of the Southeastern Conference and the West Virginia Mountaineers of the Big 12 Conference. It began at 1:00 p.m. CST and aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2014–15 bowl games that concluded the 2014 FBS football season. Sponsored by automobile parts and accessories store AutoZone, it was officially known as the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Teams This was the first meeting between these two teams. This was the 2nd Liberty Bowl appearance for both schools, Texas A&M's first was in 1975 and West Virginia's was in 1964. Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium
Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium (originally named Memphis Memorial Stadium, and later Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium) is a football stadium located at the former Mid-South Fairgrounds in the Midtown area of Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The stadium is the site of the annual Liberty Bowl, the annual Southern Heritage Classic, and is the home field of the University of Memphis Tigers football team of the American Athletic Conference. Ray Bentley
Ray Russell Bentley (born November 25, 1960) is a former professional American football linebacker, broadcaster, and author. Biography Playing career Bentley's first three years in professional football were spent with the Michigan Panthers and Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League. He later joined the Buffalo Bills, and played six seasons with the team, including their first two Super Bowl years in the 1990s. Bentley's career ended with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1992, in which he set the team's franchise record for the longest fumble return touchdown (75 yards). Joshua Gregory Lambo (born November 19, 1990) is an American football placekicker who is a free agent. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and then signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 17, 2017. Joshua Reynolds (born February 16, 1995) is an American football wide receiver for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas A&M and holds the school's season receiving touchdown record with 13, set in 2014. Reynolds was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Early years Reynolds was born on February 16, 1995, in San Antonio, Texas. The 2014 West Virginia Mountaineers football team represented West Virginia University in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. 2014 Texas A&M Aggies Football Team
The 2014 Texas A&M Aggies football team represented Texas A&M University in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Kevin Sumlin and played their home games at Kyle Field. They were a member of the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Liberty Bowl
The Liberty Bowl is an annual American college football bowl game played in late December or early January since 1959. For its first five years, it was played at Philadelphia Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia before being held at Atlantic City (New Jersey) Convention Hall in 1964. Since 1965, the game has been held at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee.
