2014 Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2014 Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix was the fifteenth round of the 2014 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Twin Ring Motegi in Motegi on 12 October 2014. In the MotoGP class, Andrea Dovizioso took his first pole position since the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix. However, Jorge Lorenzo won his second successive race, but a second-place finish for Marc Márquez was good enough for his second consecutive premier class world championship, and his fourth world title in total. The podium placings were completed by Valentino Rossi, who finished in third place. In the supporting categories, Thomas Lüthi took his first victory since by winning the Moto2 race, while in the Moto3 race, Álex Márquez took advantage of a collision between Ajo Motorsport teammates Jack Miller and Danny Kent, to take his third victory of 2014. Efrén Vázquez Rodríguez (born 2 September 1986 in Barakaldo, Spain) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He currently is a test rider for KTM's Moto3 project. He has also competed in the 125cc and 250cc world championship classes during his career, and was the 2008 Spanish 125GP championship winner. At the 2014 Indianapolis Grand Prix, Vázquez achieved his first Grand Prix victory – in his 116th start – after slipstreaming past Romano Fenati on the final straight, prevailing by 0.065 seconds. Pol Espargaró Villà (born 10 June 1991) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer who for 2023 will ride in the MotoGP class for the newly named GasGas Factory Racing team, a development of Tech3. He previously spent two years with Repsol Honda. Pol is the younger brother of fellow MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró, and is best known for winning the 2013 Moto2 World Championship. Stefan Bradl (born 29 November 1989) is a German professional motorcycle racer. Bradl is best known for winning the Moto2 World Champion. Then he made the move to MotoGP in 2012 with LCR Honda. While in MotoGP, Bradl is best known for his performance at Laguna Seca getting the pole position and finishing second in the race behind Marc Marquez, ahead of Valentino Rossi.
