2014 ITU Triathlon World Cup
The 2014 ITU Triathlon World Cup is a series of triathlon races organised by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) for elite-level triathletes held during the 2014 season. For 2014, ten races were announced as part of the World Cup series. Each race is held over a distance of 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle, 10 km run (an Olympic-distance triathlon). ITU Triathlon World Cup
The World Triathlon Cup is an annual series of triathlon races staged around the world. The series is organised by the World Triathlon, the world governing body of the sport. Inaugurated in 1991, the World Cup began as an attempt to create a regular season under its management in tandem with the ITU Triathlon World Championship race. However, this meant that there was a World Cup champion as well as a world champion. Following the 2008 series the ITU reorganized its top level competitions and created the World Triathlon Series, a series of races that was to be the successor of the World Championship. Meanwhile, the World Cup was relegated to become a second tier series, as a result the number of races in the World Cup were reduced. Since the reformat, points earned in World Cup racing are now applied only to an athlete's World Ranking. Richard Murray (triathlete)
Richard Murray (born 4 January 1989, in Cape Town) is a Dutch/South African triathlete. Murray won the Junior ITU Duathlon World Championships in 2007 and 2008, entered the adult Tri in 2009, and was the Under-23 African champion in both triathlon and duathlon in 2010, and was the elite African triathlon champion in 2011 and 2012. He scored his first win in the ITU World Triathlon Series in Hamburg in 2012. At the 2012 Summer Olympics men's triathlon on Tuesday, 7 August, he placed 17th. In 2014-2015, he was part of ECS Triathlon, an elite club based in Sartrouville, France. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, he won a silver medal in the mixed team relay and a bronze in the men's triathlon. He won the Gran Final of the World Triathlon Series (WTS) in Chicago in 2015. Robert C. Wian (June 15, 1914 – March 31, 1992) was the founder of the Big Boy restaurant chain. The restaurant started as a 10-stool hamburger stand in Glendale, California, opening in 1936 with an investment of $300 raised from the sale of his car. João Pedro Lopes da Silva (born 15 May 1989) is a Portuguese professional triathlete. He was European U-23 Champion in 2008, 2010 and 2011, National Junior Champion in 2006 and 2007 and the National U-23 Champion in 2008. Andrea Hansen (née Hewitt, born 4 April 1982) is a New Zealand triathlete who placed third at the 2009 ITU Triathlon World Championships and competed at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympics. Francisco Javier Gómez Noya (born 25 March 1983) is a Spanish triathlete. He is the winner of five ITU Triathlon World Championships, he holds three ITU Triathlon World Cup titles, and won the Silver medal for Spain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in men's triathlon.
