2014 IRB Tbilisi Cup
The 2014 IRB Tbilisi Cup was the second edition of this international rugby union tournament, created by the International Rugby Board. It was played from 14 to 22 June 2014 at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi. The hosts were joined by and two teams that regularly take part in the IRB Nations Cup, Argentina Jaguars and Emerging Italy. South Africa President's XV won the inaugural tournament in 2013 after winning all three of their games but did not return to defend their title. Avchala Stadium
Avchala ( ka, ავჭალა) is a northern suburb of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, part of the city's Gldani District. It had formerly been a village with a long history behind until being incorporated within Tbilisi’s boundaries in 1962. Avchala lies on the left bank of the Mtkvari, at 440 m above sea level. Davit Kubriashvili ( ka, დავით ქუბრიაშვილი; born 12 March 1986) is a former Georgian rugby union player. His position is prop. He played for Georgia in the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Domestic career After arriving in France from Georgia in Fédérale 1 to play for Massy, Kubriashvili, aged 21, moved up the leagues to the Top 14 with Montpellier. However, after one season there where he didn't get much game time, he moved to the newly promoted Toulon in 2008, where he has since established himself as a regular member of their squad and has played over 100 matches for the club. After arriving before the 2008/09 season, Kubriashvili soon worked his way to becoming first choice in 2009 and remained first choice for the following season. Dimitri Basilaia (born 27, November, 1985) is a Georgian rugby union player who plays for USA Perpignan in the Top 14. Club career Basilaia left Georgia and joined Clermont, playing in the Espoirs side. After being unable to break into the Clermont first team, he left for Fédérale 1 side Morlaàs in 2008.
