2014 IAAF World Relays – Men's 4 × 200 Metres Relay
The men's 4 × 200 metres relay at the 2014 IAAF World Relays was held at the Thomas Robinson Stadium on 24 May. The rarity of this event at the elite level was evidenced by the poor handoffs. Apparently the athletes involved didn't know their exchange zones. Jermaine Brown came to a complete stop in the zone, and received the handoff from Warren Weir as he was being passed. Even with this ugly handoff, the Jamaican team still dominated the race and set a new world record. Their closest competitor was St. Kitts and Nevis, whose flaw had less of an effect on their performance, Brijesh Lawrence running on the inside of the turn, correctly put out his right hand to receive the baton, but incoming Lestrod Roland also had the baton in his right hand and had to make the handoff awkwardly across his body. Thomas Robinson Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. The largest stadium in the country, it is currently used mostly for soccer matches. The stadium currently has a capacity of 15,000 people, but has the ability to be expanded to hold 23,000 people. Sittichai Suwonprateep (born November 17, 1980 in Samut Prakan) is a track and field sprint athlete who competes internationally for Thailand and is a naval officer with the Royal Thai Navy. Suwonprateep represented Thailand at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He competed at the 4x100 metres relay together with Siriroj Darasuriyong, Sompote Suwannarangsri and Apinan Sukaphai. Reanchai Seeharwong (born 24 March 1976 in Samut Prakan) is a retired Thai sprinter who specialized in the 100 and 200 metres. He won the bronze medal in the 200 metres at the 1994 Asian Junior Championships. He won the 100 and 200 metres back to back at both the 1995, 1999 and 2001 South East Asian Games. His breakthrough came at the 1998 Asian Games where he won the silver medal in the 100 metres as well as another silver in the 4 × 100 metres relay.
