2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification – CONCACAF Second Round

Format The second round saw the teams 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONCACAF)#Enrants, ranked 7–25 joined by the 5 winners from the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification – CONCACAF first round, first round. These teams were drawn into six groups of four teams, at the World Cup Preliminary Draw at the Marina da Glória in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 30 July 2011. The matches were played between 2 September to 15 November 2011. The top team from each group advanced to the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification – CONCACAF third round, third round. Seeding Teams were seeded into four pots – designated pots 4 to 7 in the draw. 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification
The 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA#Structure, FIFA confederations. The 2014 FIFA World Cup featured 32 teams, with one place reserved for the host nation, Brazil national football team, Brazil. The remaining 31 places were determined by a qualification process, in which the other 207 teams, from the six FIFA confederations, competed. Most of the successful teams were determined within these confederations, with a limited number of inter-confederation play-offs occurring at the end of the process. The Estadio Cuscatlán is a football stadium located in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. It was inaugurated in 1976. Rodolfo Antonio Zelaya García (born 3 July 1988) is a Salvadoran professional footballer who plays as a second striker for Salvadoran club Alianza and the El Salvador national team. In October 2013, Zelaya was given a one-year ban from football for his involvement in a match-fixing scandal with the El Salvador national team.
