The 2014 Golden Spin of Zagreb ( hr, Zlatna pirueta Zagreba) was the 47th edition of the annual senior-level international figure skating competition held in Zagreb, Croatia. A part of the 2014–15 ISU Challenger Series, event was held at the Dom sportova on December 4–6, 2014. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Pair skating, along with men's and women's single skating, has been an Olympic discipline since figure skating, the oldest Winter Olympic sport, was introduced at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. Sara Hurtado
Sara Hurtado Martín (born 3 November 1992) is a Spanish retired ice dancer. Initially rising to prominence on the international scene partnered with Adrián Díaz, the duo won six senior international medals and five Spanish national titles, and were the first dance team to represent Spain in ISU competition. They qualified for the Olympic Games, finishing thirteenth at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and achieving their best ISU Championship result when they placed fifth at the 2015 European Championships. Daniel "Danny" O'Shea (born February 13, 1991) is an American pair skater. He currently competes with Ellie Kam. With his former partner, Tarah Kayne, he is the 2018 Four Continents champion, 2014 Four Continents silver medalist, and 2016 U.S. national champion. Ondřej Hotárek (born 25 January 1984) is a Czech-Italian pair skater and coach who began competing for Italy in 2006. He competed with Valentina Marchei until the end of their partnership in 2018. With former partner Stefania Berton, he is the 2013 European bronze medalist, the 2013 Skate Canada International champion, and a three-time Italian national champion. Valentina Marchei (born 23 May 1986) is an Italian retired pair and single figure skater. As a singles skater, she is a five-time Italian national champion (2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014).
