2014 Aegon Trophy
The 2014 Aegon Trophy was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It was the sixth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2014 ATP Challenger Tour and the 2014 ITF Women's Circuit. It took place in Nottingham, United Kingdom, on 2–8 June 2014. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. Kenny De Schepper
Kenny de Schepper (born 29 May 1987) is a French professional tennis player. Career De Schepper was born in Bordeaux, France. His father Éric, originally from Belgium, was a former professional squash player. De Schepper, who is two meters tall, joined the National tennis centre in Poitiers when he was 13, however after a while he stopped playing tennis for two years due to growth injuries. Colin Fleming
Colin Fleming (born 13 August 1984) is a British retired professional tennis player who specialised in doubles. As part of the Davis Cup team, he won eight successive doubles matches to help Great Britain into the World Group. He also won his doubles match in the World Group quarter final against Italy. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won the mixed doubles gold medal with Jocelyn Rae for Scotland. He has reached nineteen ATP Tour doubles finals in his career, winning eight of them: two in 2009, 2012 and 2013 and one in 2011 and 2015. Michael Venus (tennis)
Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987), is a New Zealander professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Venus won the 2017 French Open men's doubles partnering Ryan Harrison, and followed with a runner-up finish in the 2017 US Open mixed doubles partnering Chan Hao-ching. Venus and Harrison qualified for the year-end championships ATP Finals, where they reached the semifinals. In 2018 Venus made the men's doubles final at Wimbledon with Raven Klaasen, losing to Mike Bryan and Jack Sock, and was a semifinalist in the mixed doubles there as well with Katarina Srebotnik. John-Patrick Smith
John-Patrick Tracey "JP" Smith (born 24 January 1989) is an Australian professional tennis player who competes mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour, both in singles and doubles. He attended the University of Tennessee from 2007 through 2011 where he was a four-time All-American and made it to the college No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles. Smith reached his highest ATP singles ranking of No. 108 on 28 September 2015, and his highest ATP doubles ranking of No. 52 on 11 September 2017. Benjamin Mitchell (tennis)
Benjamin "Ben" Mitchell (born 30 November 1992) is an Australian professional tennis player who as of March 2021 is unranked by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). As a junior, Mitchell enjoyed a successful career in which he reached one junior grand slam singles final at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships and reached a ranking of World No. 20. David Rice (born 1 January 1989) is an English former tennis player. He is best known for his activity on the doubles circuit, where he usually played with Sean Thornley. Daniel Smethurst
Daniel Smethurst (born 13 October 1990) is a British tennis player and coach, who has played on the ITF Circuit and ATP Challenger Tour. On 23 June 2014 he reached his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 234 and on 28 July 2014 reached his highest doubles ranking of No. 159. Smethurst dropped out of ATP rankings in 2017, his last match being against Calvin Hemery in the 2016 Wimbledon Championships qualifiers, where he lost in straight sets. Kyle Steven Edmund (born 8 January 1995) is a South African born-British professional tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 14 and was the top-ranked male British tennis player from March 2018 through October 2019. Daniel Cox
Daniel Mark L. Cox (born 28 September 1990 in Lincoln, England), is a British tennis player. While playing tennis for Lincolnshire, he first came into international prominence when he reached the finals of Le Petit As, Tarbes. A right-hander who favours slow hardcourts, but seems to be comfortable on all surfaces, Cox recently chose Marco Tennis Academy, in Marbella, as a training base, favouring the warm weather training in Spain over that in the United Kingdom.
