The 2013–14 Aviva Premiership was the 27th season of the top flight English domestic rugby union competition and the fourth one to be sponsored by Aviva. The reigning champions entering the season were Leicester Tigers, who had claimed their tenth title after defeating Northampton Saints in the 2013 final. Newcastle Falcons had been promoted as champions from the 2012–13 RFU Championship at the first attempt. This season was also the first season to be broadcast exclusively by BT Sport. Premiership Rugby, officially known as Gallagher Premiership Rugby, or the Gallagher Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is an English professional rugby union competition. The Premiership has consisted of thirteen clubs since 2021, and is the top division of the English rugby union system. Premiership clubs qualify for Europe's two main club competitions, the European Rugby Champions Cup and the European Rugby Challenge Cup. The winner of the second division, the RFU Championship is promoted to the Premiership and until 2020, the team finishing at the bottom of the Premiership each season was relegated to the Championship. Stuart Hooper (born 18 November 1981) is the current director of rugby and former rugby union player, at Bath Rugby. He last played for Bath Rugby in the Aviva Premiership in April 2016. Early life Born in Exeter, Hooper played basketball at county level until he was 16, before opting for rugby on his move to the specialist sports campus at Ivybridge Community College. Career Saracens: 1999-2003 Hooper broke into the Saracens team whilst still a teenager and played alongside Frenchman Abdel Benazzi in the second row. Leeds: 2003-2007 After making over 30 appearances or so for Saracens he made a surprise move to Leeds Tykes in June 2003. He made his Tykes debut against Bath on 14 September 2003. Mike Ford (rugby)
Mike A. Ford (born 18 November 1965) is an English rugby union coach, and former professional rugby league footballer. He was named as the director of rugby for Dallas Griffins in Major League Rugby, which is planned to begin in 2020. In March 2019 he joined Leicester Tigers as a temporary assistant coach for the remainder of the 2018–2019 Premiership Rugby season. Background Ford was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England. He was a pupil at Saddleworth School in Uppermill, Greater Manchester, from 1976 to 1981, where he was taught, and coached by Phil Larder. Wasps Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union team. They last played in Premiership Rugby, the top division of English rugby until being suspended on 12 October 2022. Gloucester Rugby are a professional rugby union club based in the West Country city of Gloucester, England.
