2013–14 PGA Tour
The 2013–14 PGA Tour is the 99th season of the PGA Tour, and the 47th since separating from the PGA of America. The season, which began on October 10, 2013, is the first to span two calendar years, with an October–September format. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2013–14 season. Unofficial events The following events were sanctioned by the PGA Tour, but did not carry FedEx Cup points or official money, nor were wins official. Rory McIlroy
Rory Daniel McIlroy (born 4 May 1989) is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland who is a member of both the European and PGA Tours. He is the current world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking, and has spent over 100 weeks in that position during his career. He is a four-time major champion, winning the 2011 U.S. Open, 2012 PGA Championship, 2014 Open Championship and 2014 PGA Championship. Along with Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, he is one of three players to win four majors by the age of 25. McIlroy had a successful amateur career, topping the World Amateur Golf Ranking for one week as a 17-year-old in 2007. 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions
The 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions was a golf tournament played from 31 October to 3 November at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, China. It was the fifth WGC-HSBC Champions tournament, and the fourth of four World Golf Championships events held in the 2013 calendar year. Dustin Johnson broke the tournament scoring record for his first WGC win; he finished three strokes ahead of runner-up Ian Poulter, the defending champion. Scott Stallings
Scott Stallings (born March 25, 1985) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Early life and amateur career Stallings was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. He attended Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and was an all-state golfer and a four-year member of the Dean's List. He attended Tennessee Tech, where he was a two-time Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, winning seven tournaments and named an All-American in 2006. Professional career In 2008 and 2009, Stallings played on the Tarheel Tour and the NGA Hooters Tour. In 2009, he made his first trip to the PGA Tour's Qualifying School, where he missed a PGA Tour card by a single stroke. His finish gave him status on the Nationwide Tour. Farmers Insurance Open
The Farmers Insurance Open is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played in the San Diego, California, area in the early part of the season known as the "West Coast Swing". The tournament was noted for having singer-actor Andy Williams as a celebrity host from 1968 through 1988. It originated as the San Diego Open in 1952 and used that name in its title through 1985. Title sponsors were added in 1981, first with Wickes for two years, then three with Isuzu. Shearson Lehman Brothers became the title sponsors in 1986, replaced by Buick in 1992 and Farmers Insurance in 2010. The event is organized by The Century Club of San Diego. Patrick Nathaniel Reed (born August 5, 1990) is an American professional golfer. He has nine tournament victories on the PGA Tour, including one major championship, the 2018 Masters Tournament, and two World Golf Championships, the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship and 2020 WGC-Mexico Championship. In 2022, he joined LIV Golf. Reed has represented the United States in Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup team competitions. Humana Challenge
The Desert Classic (currently known as The American Express for sponsorship reasons; previously known as the CareerBuilder Challenge, Palm Springs Golf Classic, the Bob Hope Desert Classic, the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, and the Humana Challenge) is a professional golf tournament in southern California on the PGA Tour. Played in mid-winter in the Coachella Valley (greater Palm Springs), it is part of the tour's early season "West Coast Swing." It previously had five rounds of competition (90 holes) rather than the standard of four rounds, and was known for its celebrity pro-am. For many years, the event was named for and hosted by entertainer Bob Hope and featured a number of celebrity participants. Sony Open In Hawaii
The Sony Open in Hawaii is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, and is part of the tour's FedEx Cup Series. It has been contested at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii, since the event's modern-day inception as the Hawaiian Open in November 1965. In addition to the usual PGA Tour eligibility criteria, the Sony Open may invite up to three professional golfers from emerging markets. History Originally a mid-autumn event for its first five editions, it was skipped in 1970 as it moved to its winter slot in early February 1971. Currently, it is held in mid-January and is the first full-field event of the calendar year, following the Tournament of Champions on Maui. Zachary Harris Johnson (born February 24, 1976) is an American professional golfer who has 12 victories on the PGA Tour, including two major championships, the 2007 Masters and the 2015 Open Championship. Hyundai Tournament Of Champions
The Sentry Tournament of Champions is the calendar-year opening tournament of golf's PGA Tour season, played in Hawaii on the island of Maui. The tournament was founded in 1953; for most of its history the field was restricted to golfers who won a tournament on the tour during the previous calendar year, but players who qualified for the preceding Tour Championship are now invited as well. Harris English
Harris English (born July 23, 1989) is an American professional golfer and currently a member of the PGA Tour. Amateur career Born in Valdosta, Georgia, English attended The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for high school, graduating in 2007. While at Baylor, English won a 2005 Tennessee individual state title, and won four Tennessee team state titles from 2004 to 2007. Committing as a high school junior to the University of Georgia in Athens, English played on the Bulldog golf team and graduated in 2011 with a business degree. As an amateur, English played in two Nationwide Tour events 2011: the Stadion Athens Classic at UGA in May and the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational in July, which he won. OHL Classic At Mayakoba
The World Wide Technology Championship is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in Mexico, contested at the Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal golf course within the Diamante Cabo San Lucas resort. It debuted in February 2007 and was the first PGA Tour event to take place in Mexico. Christopher Brandon Kirk (born May 8, 1985) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour. He won four tournaments on the PGA Tour between 2011 and 2015.
