2013–14 Bristol Rovers F.C. Season
The 2013–14 season was the 131st season in Bristol Rovers' history and their 87th in the The Football League, Football League. For the third season in a row, Rovers competed in the basement division of the Football League, Football League Two, League Two, having finished 14th in the 2012–13 Football League Two, 2012–13 season. During the season, Rovers played their first competitive fixture against Newport County A.F.C., Newport County since their reformation and their first against Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth in 20 years. They also competed in the first competitive Bristol derby since 2007, losing to Bristol City F.C., Bristol City in the first round of the 2013–14 Football League Trophy, Football League Trophy at Ashton Gate Stadium. Portsmouth ( ) is a port and city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire in southern England. Scott Bevan
Scott Anthony Bevan (born 19 September 1979) is a former professional footballer currently employed as the under-23s goalkeeping coach at Birmingham City. Career Playing career Bevan started his football career with Southampton as an associated schoolboy player before turning professional in 1997. He never made a first team appearance for Southampton although he did get experience out on loan at Ayr United, Stoke City, Woking (on two separate occasions), Huddersfield Town and Wycombe Wanderers. Mark McChrystal
Mark Thomas McChrystal (born 26 June 1984) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer and coach. Born in Derry, he was a left-footed defender, he has in the past also captained the Northern Ireland under-21 side. He is currently a first-team coach at Derry City. Club career McChrystal began his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers where he was one of a plethora of young players from Northern Ireland playing there. After spending three years at Molineux, including a spell on loan at Bradford City in 2003, he was released by the Midlands club and he eventually returned home to sign for his local team Derry City of the League of Ireland in April 2003, despite interest from other English clubs. Joe Anyinsah
Joseph Greene Anyinsah (born 8 October 1984 in Bristol) is an English footballer who plays as a striker who last played for Hayes and Yeading. Career Bristol City and Preston North End Anyinsah started his career at Bristol City making his debut on 7 August 2004 against Torquay United. In 2005, he spent a month on loan with Hereford United to gain first team experience, where he made his debut in a 1–0 loss against Dagenham & Redbridge on 22 January 2005 and made two more appearances before returning to Bristol City. Jim Paterson (footballer)
James Lee Paterson (born 25 September 1979) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a left back or left midfielder. He was most recently the interim manager of East Kilbride. He played for Dundee United, Motherwell, Plymouth Argyle, Aberdeen, Shamrock Rovers, Bristol Rovers, Celtic Nation, Forfar Athletic and Dunfermline Athletic. Jamie Lucas (born 6 December 1995) is a Welsh footballer who plays for Droitwich Spa as a striker. Born near Pontypridd, South Wales, Lucas spent one season playing for Bristol Rovers Central in the Midland Junior Premier League, before joining the Under-16s as a schoolboy. Lucas won the league and cup double for the Under-18s during the 2012-13 campaign, which subsequently earned him a professional contract in the summer of 2013. Pat Keary
Patrick Keary (born 22 November 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a centre back, currently a Free Agent after he was released by Bristol Rovers. Keary played and captained the Bristol Rovers Centre of Excellence sides from the age of 8 to 16, before being released from the club. He then spent a year playing and studying for TeamBath, at Bath University. During his time away from Bristol Rovers he also made appearances for the Mangotsfield United reserve team in the Somerset County League (5 appearances, 2 goals) and made one first-team appearance for Southern League Division One South & West side Mangotsfield United in a cup competition. Michael Smith (born 4 September 1988) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Yeovil Town and the Northern Ireland national team.
