The 2013–14 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 44th staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment in 1970. The championship began on 13 October 2013 and ended on 17 March 2014. St. Thomas's were the defending champions, however, they failed to emerge from the county championship in Galway. Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship
The Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the St Canice's Credit Union Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Kilkenny SHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Kilkenny County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Kilkenny in Ireland. It is the most prestigious competition in Kilkenny hurling. Introduced in 1887 as the Kilkenny Hurling Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to senior-ranking club teams. Mount Leinster Rangers GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Borris, County Carlow, Ireland. The club was founded in 1987 and fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling. History Mount Leinster Rangers GAA club was founded in 1987 and the amalgamation of three existing club teams— Borris, Ballymurphy and Rathanna—within the parish was completed in 1988. On 1 December 2013, Mount Leinster Rangers won their first ever Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship title after an 0–11 to 0–8 win against Oulart the Ballagh in the final. 1987–88 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 1987–88 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 18th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 23 August 1987 and ended on 17 March 1988. Borris-Ileigh of Tipperary were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify after being defeated by Lorrha in the North Tipperary Championship. On 17 March 1988, Midleton won the championship after a 3-08 to 0-09 defeat of Athenry in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. It remains their only championship title. Athenry's P. J. Molloy was the championship's top scorer with 0-31. Midleton GAA
Midleton Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Midleton in County Cork, Ireland. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History The concept of a Gaelic Athletic Association was first mooted in 1883 when a sub-committee of the Irish Republican Brotherhood was formed with the ideal of creating a National Athletic body. Midleton man, P.N Fitzgerald was one of the committee members who eventually set up the Gaelic Athletic Association and thus Midleton's love affair and commitment to the G.A.A. was established. The club was formally affiliated to the association, when at the third meeting of the fledgling organisation, held in Thurles on 17 January 1885; Jeremiah J Coffey formally registered the club as Midleton Football club. 2007–08 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2007–08 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 38th club hurling competition since its establishment in 1970–71. The first matches of the season were played on 14 October 2007 and the championship ended on 17 March 2008. Ballyhale Shamrocks went into the 2007–08 championship as defending champions, having won their fourth All-Ireland title the previous year. The championship culminated with the All-Ireland final, held at Croke Park, Dublin. The match was contested by Birr GAA, Birr and Portumna GAA, Portumna. It was their first meeting in the final. The 2011–12 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 42nd staging of the All-Ireland hurling club championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1970. The draw for the 2011-12 fixtures took place in August 2011. The championship began on 9 October 2011 and ended on 17 March 2012. Clarinbridge were the defending champions, however, they did not qualify for the championship. Loughgiel Shamrocks secured the title with a 4-13 to 0-17 defeat of Coolderry in the All-Ireland final. Liam Watson (hurler)
Liam Watson (born 1983) is a former hurler who played for Loughgiel Shamrocks GAC. He was nominated for an All Star award in 2011 and travelled to the United States as a replacement. Watson made his first appearance for Antrim during the 2002 championship and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. He won eleven Ulster medals, one National League (Division 2) medal and one Christy Ring Cup medal, the latter as a non-playing substitute. At club level, Watson is an All-Ireland medalist with Loughgiel Shamrocks. He has also won four Ulster medals and four county club championship medals. In March 2012 he scored 3–7 when he won the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship with Loughgiel after a 4–13 0–17 defeat of Coolderry in the final at Croke Park. It is contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Antrim, Northern Ireland, with the winners decided through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Antrim hurling. In its present format, the eight teams are drawn into two groups of four teams and play each other in a single round-robin system.
