It currently fields teams in basketball, gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, and tennis but is by far best known for its football section. The 2013–14 Bundesliga was the 51st season of the Bundesliga, Germany's premier football league. The season began on 9 August 2013 and the final matchday was on 10 May 2014. The winter break started on 23 December 2013 and ended on 24 January 2014. Bayern Munich were the defending champions and officially clinched the championship on 25 March 2014 after defeating Hertha BSC, on the 27th matchday of the season.
