Portuguese Television
Television in Portugal was introduced in 1956 (test broadcasts) by Radiotelevisão Portuguesa (now named Rádio e Televisão de Portugal), which held the nationwide television monopoly until late 1992. Regular broadcasting was introduced on March 7, 1957. Colour transmissions were introduced on March 10, 1980. Digital terrestrial television (DTT) was introduced at a very late stage when compared to other countries in Europe and with limited channels, and according to the European Audiovisual Observatory it occupies the last place in 34 European countries with the weakest offer on digital terrestrial television, in such a way that most Portuguese are subscribers of cable (HFC) or IPTV (DSL or FTTH) platforms, in percentages higher than in the rest of Europe and these platforms are well developed with many channels. Secret Story 3 (Portugal)
''Secret Story - Casa dos Segredos 3'' is the third season of the Portuguese version of the reality show Secret Story, based on the original French version and of Big Brother. Audition for this season was opened in June 2012. The season started on 16 September 2012 and ended 107 days later with the final on 31 December 2012, which acclaimed Rúben as the winner. ''Secret Story - Casa dos Segredos 2'' is the second season of the Portuguese version of the reality show '' Secret Story'', based on the original French version and on '' Big Brother''. The series started on 18 September and will finish on 31 December, lasting 105 days. It is broadcast on TVI and produced by Endemol Portugal. That was the last time that the finale took place in Campo Pequeno, Lisbon. Housemates There are 21 housemates for the second season. Bruna Bruna is 20 years old. The X Factor (UK TV Series)
''The X Factor'' is a British reality television music competition, created by Simon Cowell. Premiering on 4 September 2004, it was produced by Fremantle's Thames and Cowell's production company Syco Entertainment for ITV, as well as simulcast on Virgin Media One in Ireland. The programme ran for around 445 episodes across fifteen series, each one primarily broadcast late in the year, until its final episode in December 2018. Ídolos (Portuguese TV Series)
''Ídolos'' is a Portuguese reality television show based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in Portugal. The first two seasons were hosted by Sílvia Alberto and Pedro Granger. The show, then went to a sort of hiatus, and, after only a lukewarm reaction by the viewers for season two, the show has officially been replaced by another casting show on its broadcast station, ''Família Superstar'', which ended in 2008. After an absence for four years the show returned for a third season to SIC in fall 2009 now with João Manzarra and Cláudia Vieira hosting. Season 3 finished in February 2010, and Season 4 started in September. Ídolos had three audition cities to find the best talent in all of Portugal, including: Porto, Beja and Lisbon.
