2013 WNBA Playoffs
The 2013 WNBA Playoffs is the WNBA Playoffs, postseason for the Women's National Basketball Association's 2013 WNBA season, 2013 season. Four teams from each of the league's two conferences will qualify for the playoffs, seed (sports), seeded 1 to 4 in a tournament bracket, with the two opening rounds in a best-of-three playoff, best-of-three format, and the final in a best-of-five playoff, best-of-five format. The Minnesota Lynx won the 2013 WNBA Finals, sweeping the Atlanta Dream in three games. The Lynx became the 2010 Seattle Storm season, second WNBA team to sweep through the playoffs since the WNBA adopted the best-of-five format for the finals. The Lynx defeated the Phoenix Mercury in the Western Conference (WNBA), Western Conference Finals, and the Seattle Storm in the conference semifinals. Women's National Basketball Association
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. Five WNBA teams have direct NBA counterparts and normally play in the same arena. They play in the same arena as funding is sparse due to lack of spectators. Courtney Vandersloot
Courtney Vandersloot (born February 8, 1989) is an American and Hungarian basketball point guard for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Sopron Basket in the Hungarian National Championship. The third selection in the 2011 WNBA draft, she was selected as an All-Star and named to the All-Rookie Team in her rookie year. She was named an All-Star again in 2019 and 2021. Sylvia Shaqueria Fowles (born October 6, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. Fowles played for the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx during her career in the WNBA. Erlana La'Nay Larkins (born April 2, 1986) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. High school Larkins played for The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, where she was named a WBCA All-American. She participated in the 2004 WBCA High School All-America Game where she scored four points. She is the school's all-time leading scorer with over 3,000 career points. Shavonte Zellous (born August 28, 1986) is an American-Croatian professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. She was a standout basketball player at the University of Pittsburgh. 2012 WNBA Finals
The 2012 WNBA Finals was the series for the 2012 season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Minnesota Lynx, champions of the Western Conference, faced the Indiana Fever, champions of the Eastern Conference.
