2013 UTSA Roadrunners Football Team
The 2013 UTSA Roadrunners football team represented the University of Texas at San Antonio in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was the third season for football at UTSA and their first as members of the Conference USA in the West Division. Larry Coker returned as the team's head coach for a third season. The Roadrunners played their home games at the Alamodome. A popular battle cry, "We'll go 99," surfaced after the New Mexico game in which UTSA drove the ball 99 yards to score a touchdown and seal the win. Larry Coker
Larry Edward Coker (born June 23, 1948) is a former American football coach and player. He previously served as the head coach of the University of Miami and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Coker's 2001 Miami Hurricanes football team, 2001 Miami team was named the consensus College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national champion after an undefeated season that culminated with a victory in the 2002 Rose Bowl, Rose Bowl over 2001 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, Nebraska. In the process of winning the championship, Coker became the third head coach since 1948 to win the national championship in his first season. (Bennie Oosterbaan from the University of Michigan and Dennis Erickson of the University Miami were the last two head coaches to accomplish this feat.) Arizona Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium in the southwestern United States, located on the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. The 2013 Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team represented the University of Tulsa in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Bill Blankenship and played their home games at Skelly Field at H. A. Chapman Stadium. This was Tulsa's final season as a member of Conference USA (C-USA). The 2013 UAB Blazers football team represented the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season as a member of the East Division of Conference USA (C-USA). They were led by second year head coach Garrick McGee and played their home games at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. The 2013 Rice Owls football team represented Rice University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by seventh-year head coach David Bailiff and played its home games at Rice Stadium. The team was a member of the West Division of Conference USA (C-USA). They finished the season 10–4 overall, 7–1 in C-USA play, which was good for first place in the West Division. The Sun Bowl is an outdoor football stadium in the southwestern United States, on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso. It is home to the UTEP Miners of Conference USA, and the late December college football bowl game, the Sun Bowl.
