The 2013 Slovenian Supercup was the ninth edition of the Slovenian Supercup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Slovenian PrvaLiga and Slovenian Cup competitions. The match was played on 7 July 2013 at the Arena Petrol stadium in Celje between the 2012–13 Slovenian PrvaLiga winners Maribor and the 2012–13 Slovenian PrvaLiga runners-up Olimpija Ljubljana, as Maribor won both the Slovenian Cup and the Slovenian PrvaLiga in the previous season. The 2012–13 season was the 53rd season in the history of NK Maribor and the club's 22nd consecutive season in the Slovenian PrvaLiga since the league establishment in 1991. The 2013–14 season was the 54th season in the history of NK Maribor and the club's 23rd consecutive season in the Slovenian PrvaLiga since the league establishment in 1991. The team participated in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, Slovenian Football Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League. The season covers the period from 1 June 2013 to 31 May 2014. Dejan Mezga
Dejan Mezga (born 16 July 1985) is a Croatian footballer who plays for Austrian amateur side SV Übelbach as a midfielder. During his career, he played for Čakovec, Maribor, Hajduk Split, Apollon Limassol, Nacional, Inter Zaprešić, Varaždin, Polet Sv. Martin na Muri, and SV Übelbach. Mezga acquired Slovenian citizenship on 23 August 2012. Marcos Magno Morales Tavares (born 30 March 1984) is a retired Brazilian footballer who played as a striker. Tavares spent 15 seasons with Slovenian team Maribor, and is the club's all-time most capped player and top goalscorer. Slovenian Football Cup
The Slovenian Football Cup ( sl, Pokal Nogometne zveze Slovenije, ) is the top knockout tournament of Slovenian football and the second most important football competition in Slovenia after the Slovenian PrvaLiga championship. The cup was established in 1991 following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Since 2020, it has been known as Pokal Pivovarna Union after its headline sponsor, the Union Brewery. As of 2022, a total of 17 clubs have reached the cup final; the most successful side in the history of the competition is Maribor, who have triumphed 9 times in their 14 cup final appearances.
