2013 Shenzhen Open
The 2013 Shenzhen Open (known as ''2013 Shenzhen Gemdale Open'' for sponsorship reason) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the inaugural edition of the Shenzhen Open, and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2013 WTA Tour. It took place at the Shenzhen Longgang Sports Center in Shenzhen, China, from 31 December 2012 to 6 January 2013. Hard Court (tennis)
A tennis court is the venue where the sport of tennis is played. It is a firm rectangular surface with a low net stretched across the centre. The same surface can be used to play both Types of tennis match, doubles and singles matches. A variety of surfaces can be used to create a tennis court, each with its own characteristics which affect the playing style of the game. Dimensions The dimensions of a tennis court are defined and regulated by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) governing body and are written down in the annual 'Rules of Tennis' document. The court is long. Its width is for singles matches and for doubles matches. The service line is from the net.
