2013 Seattle Reign FC Season
The 2013 Seattle Reign FC season was the club's first season in the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Background In November 2012, it was confirmed that a Seattle-based women's professional soccer team owned by Bill Predmore (founder and president of Seattle-based digital marketing agency, POP) had been accepted into a new women's professional soccer league, later named National Women's Soccer League. Former general manager of the Seattle Sounders Women and Seattle Sounders FC Director of Youth Programs, Amy Carnell, was named General Manager. On December 21, 2012, the team announced Laura Harvey as their first head coach. Seattle Reign FC
OL Reign is an American professional women's soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded by Bill and Teresa Predmore in 2012 as Seattle Reign FC, it was one of eight inaugural members of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). In 2020, OL Groupe, the parent company of French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, became the team's majority owner and rebranded to its current name, badge, and colors. Laura Harvey is the team's head coach; she led the team to two consecutive NWSL Shield wins in 2014 and 2015 and a third in 2022. OL Reign has played its home matches at Lumen Field since 2022. Teresa Noyola Bayardo (born 15 April 1990) is a Mexican former footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder. She previously played for the Houston Dash, FC Kansas City, and Seattle Reign FC in the National Women's Soccer League, and for Icelandic club Valur. She has been a member of the Mexico women's national team. She also holds American citizenship. In 2011, she was the recipient of the Hermann Trophy award. Lindsay Marie Taylor (born October 25, 1989) is an American professional soccer forward. She played for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL and was a member of the United States U-23 women's national soccer team. Early life Taylor was born in California to parents, Gary and Jennifer Taylor. Kathleen Ann Deines (born September 17, 1989) is an American soccer midfielder- defender. She most recently played for Turbine Potsdam in the German Bundesliga and Seattle Reign FC of the National Women's Soccer League. 2013 NWSL College Draft
The 2013 NWSL College Draft was the first annual college draft held by the National Women's Soccer League to assign the NWSL rights of college players to the eight NWSL teams. It took place on January 18, 2013 at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Format *Draft order was determined by weighted draw based on an evaluation of current team strengths from the NWSL Player Allocation. *The order remains the same each round, as opposed to the originally announced snake format. *Teams will have three minutes to choose a player in each of the first two rounds and five minutes in each of the last two rounds.
