2013 Rialto Channel New Zealand Film Awards
The 2013 Rialto Channel New Zealand Film Awards is the second presentation for the New Zealand Film Awards, a New Zealand film industry award. Following the demise of the Aotearoa Film and Television Awards in 2012, New Zealand film industry figure Ant Timpson and nzherald.co.nz online entertainment editor Hugh Sundae announced the formation of the Sorta Unofficial New Zealand Film Awards, also known as the Moas. In 2013 the awards were renamed the New Zealand Film Awards, with the Rialto Channel as the primary sponsor. The 2013 ceremony took place at Shed 10 (upstairs) in Auckland on 10 December 2013. It was webcast live at the nzherald.co.nz, and broadcast on the Rialto Channel on 15 December. Hugh Sundae
Hugh Sundae (born Ian Hughes) is a New Zealand broadcaster and journalist. He is best known for his radio work at University of Auckland campus radio 95bFM, as a television presenter, and as the digital entertainment producer at the New Zealand Herald. Career Sundae started volunteering at Auckland University campus radio 95bFM in 1992 at the age of 14, helping out in the office. This eventually led to DJ work, with Sundae filling in for breakfast host Graeme Hill, at age 17. In 1995, Sundae was asked to turn a popular station promo for the New Zealand music show Freak the Sheep into a song. The comedy single "What's Wrong With Huntly" was released through Virgin Records and reached No.37 on the New Zealand singles chart. Temuera Derek Morrison (born 26 December 1960) is a New Zealand actor and Singer who first gained recognition for his role as Dr. Hone Ropata on the soap opera ''Shortland Street''. He gained critical acclaim for his starring role as Jake "The Muss" Heke in the 1994 film ''Once Were Warriors'' and its 1999 sequel '' What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?'' Oscar Vai To'elau Kightley (born 14 September 1969) is a Samoan-born New Zealand actor, television presenter, writer, journalist, director, and comedian. John Psathas
John Psathas, (born Ioannis Psathas, el, Ιωάννης Ψάθας; 1966) is a New Zealand composer. He has works in the repertoire of such high-profile musicians as Evelyn Glennie, Michael Houstoun, Michael Brecker, Joshua Redman and the New Juilliard Ensemble, and is one of New Zealand's most frequently performed composers. Alun Bollinger
Alun Robert Bollinger (born 1948) is a New Zealand cinematographer, who has worked on several Peter Jackson films, and many other films in New Zealand. He has also been a Director of Photography, including the second unit for Peter Jackson's trilogy ''The Lord of the Rings''. He started as a trainee cine-camera operator for television with the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation in 1966.
