2013 Punggol East By-election
A by-election for the Punggol East Single Member Constituency in Singapore was held on 26 January 2013 with Lee Li Lian from the Worker's Party as the winning candidate. This followed due to the resignation of former parliamentary speaker Michael Palmer from the People's Action Party on 12 December 2012. This was the 17th by-election since the first election, and the second by-election in as many years. The Nomination Day was held on 16 January 2013, while Polling Day was on 26 January 2013. This was also returning officer, Yam Ah Mee's last stint, following his resignation from the People's Association. Lee Li Lian
Lee Li Lian (; born 19 July 1978) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the opposition Workers' Party (WP), she was the Member of Parliament for Punggol East SMC between 2013 and 2015. Lee made her political debut in the 2011 general election where she contested in Punggol East SMC but lost. She later served as the Member of Parliament (MP) representing Punggol East SMC between 2013 and 2015 after winning the 2013 by-election but lost her seat to Charles Chong in the 2015 general election by a narrow margin. Anson By-election, 1981
The 1981 Anson by-election was held on 31 October 1981 with J. B. Jeyaretnam from the Worker's Party as the winning candidate. This followed the incumbent MP Devan Nair stepping down in order to become President of Singapore. The by-election marked the first occasion since Singapore's independence in which a PAP candidate was defeated in an election for a seat in Parliament. The 37% swing against the PAP is the largest ever swing in a by-election in independent Singapore, and the second largest since 1961. North Vista Secondary School is a co-educational government secondary school in Sengkang, Singapore. Founded in 1956 as Gan Eng Seng Government Chinese Middle School, North Vista had a rich heritage to providing all with a holistic education. Punggol
Punggol, alternatively spelled as Ponggol, is a Planning Areas of Singapore, planning area and New towns of Singapore, new town situated on the Tanjong Punggol peninsula in the North-East Region, Singapore, North-East Region of Singapore. The town directly borders Sengkang to the south and shares riverine boundaries with the planning area of Seletar to the west and Pasir Ris to the east. Bounding the town to the north and north-east is the Straits of Johor, with Coney Island, Punggol, Coney Island included as a part of the Punggol planning area. Tony Tan Keng Yam
Tony Tan Keng Yam (; born 7 February 1940) is a Singaporean former politician who served as the seventh president of Singapore between 2011 and 2017. He did not seek for a second term as president in 2017 due to a constitutional amendment. Prior to entering politics, Tan was a general manager at OCBC Bank. Charles Chong
Charles Chong You Fook ( zh, s=张有福, p=Zhāng Yǒufú; born 24 June 1953) is a Singaporean former politician who served as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore between 2011 and 2020. He served as Acting Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore from 7 August to 11 September 2017, following the resignation of Halimah Yacob on 7 August 2017. Zainal bin Sapari ( Jawi:زاينل ساڤري; born 30 November 1965) is a Singaporean politician. The speaker of the Parliament of Singapore is the presiding officer of the Parliament of Singapore. The speaker is nominated by the prime minister before being appointed by the Parliament. Lee Hsien Loong
Lee Hsien Loong (; born 10 February 1952) is a Singaporean politician and former brigadier-general who has been serving as Prime Minister of Singapore and Secretary-General of the People's Action Party since 2004.
