2013 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals
The 2013 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals was the best-of-5 championship series of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 2013 Commissioner's Cup, and the conclusion of the conference's playoffs. The Alaska Aces and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel competed for the 108th championship contested by the league. Alaska defeated Ginebra by sweeping the series, 3-0, with Alaska winning its first championship (14th overall) after Tim Cone's tenure with the Aces and their final title in the league. This was the third time the two teams met in the finals, and served as a rematch of the 1997 edition of the Commissioner's Cup, when Barangay Ginebra, then known as the Gordon's Gin Boars defeated Alaska, four games to two. 2013 PBA Commissioner's Cup
The 2013 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner's Cup was the second conference of the 2012–13 PBA season. The tournament began on February 8 and ended on May 19, 2013. The tournament is an import-laden format, which requires an import or a pure-foreign player for each team and with no height limit. From the semifinal round onwards, the tournament is sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier. Format Due to the preparations of the Philippines men's national basketball team for the upcoming FIBA Asia Championship, the opening of Governors' Cup was moved on the second week of August, at the conclusion of the FIBA tournament. Vernon Macklin
Vernon Leon Macklin (born September 25, 1986) is an American basketball coach and former professional basketball player. He is an assistant coach of the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Macklin played college basketball for the University of Florida before being drafted was by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft. Early years Macklin was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. He attended I. C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth, where he played for the Norcom Greyhounds high school basketball team for three years. Macklin finished his prep career at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia, while helping the Hargrave Tigers to a 28–2 season and averaging twenty points and fifteen rebounds per game. Rafael Joey Q. Jazul Jr. (born April 11, 1986) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 11th overall in the 2010 PBA draft by the Aces. He was then immediately sent to the Elasto Painters in exchange for Rain or Shine's 2nd round pick in the 2011 PBA Draft. The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines.
