2013 Oregon Ducks Football Team
The 2013 Oregon Ducks football team represented the University of Oregon in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by first year head coach Mark Helfrich and played their home games at Autzen Stadium for the 47th consecutive year. They were a member of the Pac-12 Conference in the North Division. Previous season Summary The Ducks had high expectations to make a run at a BCS national championship title. This was the first year under new head coach Mark Helfrich, after the departure of Chip Kelly to the NFL in the previous year. They were undefeated up to November 7, 2013, where they lost to Stanford, dimming their national championship aspirations. Mark Helfrich (American Football)
Mark August Helfrich (born October 28, 1973) is a former American football coach who is now an analyst for Fox Sports. He was the head coach for the University of Oregon from 2013 to 2016. He most recently served as the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2019. He played professionally in the Austrian Football League. Playing career Recruited out of Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Oregon, Helfrich was offered an opportunity to walk on at the University of Oregon; however, he decided to attend Southern Oregon instead, where he was the starting quarterback from 1992 to 1995 and was a NAIA All-American. Helfrich saw his most successful season in 1993 as he set school records for passing yards, touchdowns, and total offense. Michael Vincent Clay (born August 30, 1991) is a former American football linebacker and coach who is the special teams coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). Marcus Mariota
Marcus Ardel Taulauniu Mariota (born October 30, 1993) is an American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted second overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL Draft. Mariota played college football at Oregon, where he was the starting quarterback from 2012 to 2014. Dion Jordan
Dion Rory Jordan (born March 5, 1990) is an American football defensive end who is a free agent. He played college football at Oregon and was drafted by the Miami Dolphins with the third pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has also been a member of the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders. Early years Jordan attended Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona. He played both tight end and defensive end. He caught 54 passes for 804 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. 2014 Pro Bowl
The 2014 Pro Bowl was the National Football League's all-star game for the 2013 season. It took place at 2:30 pm local time on January 26 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The game was televised nationally by NBC and was the final Pro Bowl on network television before ABC’s airing in 2018 as part of a simulcast with sister network ESPN, whose parent company Disney currently holds domestic television rights to the game. Kyle Howard Long (born December 5, 1988) is an American football guard who is a free agent. The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Howie Long and the younger brother of former defensive end Chris Long. He played college football at Oregon following stints with Florida State and Saddleback.
