2013 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2013 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, women's provincial curling championship, was held January 21–27, 2013 at the Kitchener-Waterloo Granite Club in Waterloo, Ontario. The winning Rachel Homan rink went on to represent Ontario at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kingston, Ontario. Qualification Process Ten teams qualify for the provincial tournament through several methods. Four teams qualify from Northern Ontario, two teams qualify from Regions 1&2, two teams qualify from regions 3&4 and two teams qualify from the Challenge Round. Waterloo, Ontario
Waterloo is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of three cities in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo (formerly Waterloo County, Ontario, Waterloo County). Marlo Dahl
Marlo Dahl (born October 21, 1972 in Nipigon, Ontario) is a Canadian curler and singer. Dahl skips a team on the Women's World Curling Tour representing the Port Arthur Curling Club in Thunder Bay. Dahl is a perennial skip at the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts. She has played in six provincial championships, including 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. She has played in three World Curling Tour events in her career, the 2006 Labatt Cash Spiel, the 2012 Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel and the 2012 Molson Cash Spiel. Outside of curling, Dahl is a Catholic school teacher at St. Edward Elementary in Nipigon. She is also a singer in the band "Thunder Bay Legends", which impersonates famous singers. Stephanie "Steph" Davis (born November 4, 1973) is an American rock climber, BASE jumper, and wingsuit flyer. She is one of the world's leading climbers, having completed some of the hardest routes in the world. The Fort William Curling Club is a curling club located in the Downtown Fort William, Ontario, Downtown Fort William neighbourhood of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Sarah Potts (curler)
Sarah Potts ( Lang; born September 21, 1989) is a Canadian curler. She currently plays lead for the Krista McCarville rink. Potts is a three-time Scotties Tournament of Hearts medallist, winning bronze representing Ontario in 2010 and silver representing Northern Ontario in 2016 and 2022. Career Potts started curling at the age of 7. She represented Northern Ontario at the 2008 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, playing third for Ashley Miharija. The team finished the round robin with an 8–4 record and lost in a tiebreaker to Saskatchewan's Stephanie McVicar. Kari Lavoie
Kari Lavoie (born Kari MacLean on December 25, 1977 in Thunder Bay, Ontario) is a Canadian curler. Lavoie joined the team in 2007 replacing Tiffany Stubbings. Her resume until that point included winning three Northern Ontario Junior championships in 1996, 1997, and 1998 and the 2006 Northern Ontario Mixed championship. She played lead for Mike Assad, a team that finished with a 3-8 record at the 2007 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship and won the most Sportsmanlike Player award. Ashley Sippala (born Ashley Miharija, January 21, 1987) is a Canadian curler. Sippala currently plays front-end on the Krista McCarville rink. Career Sippala's first major curling event was when she played third for Mike Assad's Northern Ontario team at the 2008 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. The team finished 6–5. Sippala skipped Team Northern Ontario at the 2008 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Jillian Brothers (born May 20, 1983 as Jill Mouzar ronounced "MOW-zer" is a Canadian curler. Brothers was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and now resides in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She currently plays second on Team Andrea Kelly out of New Brunswick. Career Brothers started curling in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Her first Nova Scotia junior championship was in 2001, along with Meaghan Smart, Meghan MacAdams, Carolyn Marshall, and coach Albert Smart. This team was the first Liverpool team to curl at the national level since 1970, representing Nova Scotia at the 2001 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Sherry Middaugh
Sherry L. Middaugh (née Hamel, born October 11, 1966 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Victoria Harbour, Ontario. Before marrying world champion curler Wayne Middaugh, she was known as Sherry Scheirich. She is a five-time Ontario champion and a one-time Saskatchewan curling champion. She is currently the coach of Team Tracy Fleury. Career Middaugh, originally from Saskatchewan, won the 1986 Saskatchewan Junior Women's Championship. She represented Saskatchewan at the 1986 Canadian Junior Women's Curling Championship, where she tied for fourth with a 6–4 record.
