The 2013 Nordic Figure Skating Championships was held from January 31 to February 3, 2013 at the Egilshöll in Reykjavík, Iceland. 2012–13 Figure Skating Season
The 2012–13 figure skating season began on July 1, 2012, and ended on June 30, 2013. During this season, elite skaters from men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance competed on the International Skating Union (ISU) Championship level at the 2013 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They also competed in elite events such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final. Season notes The 2012–2013 pattern dance in the short dance was the Yankee Polka on the senior level and Blues on the junior level. Valtter Virtanen
Valtter Virtanen (born 4 June 1987) is a Finnish figure skater. He is a three-time Nordic medalist (gold in 2022, silver in 2016, bronze in 2014) and a six-time Finnish national champion (2013, 2015–2018, 2022). He has qualified for the free skate at three ISU Championships. Personal life Virtanen was born on 4 June 1987 in Kerava, Finland. After completing his studies in late 2015, he became a medical doctor at a hospital in Oberstdorf, Germany. He works part-time in the emergency room of the hospital of Peurunka in Finland. He married German figure skater Alina Mayer in July 2016. The couple has a daughter, born in January 2021. Career Virtanen began skating in 1992 at Keravan Luistinseura. He has competed in the free skate at three ISU Championships — 2005 Junior Worlds in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, where he placed 20th. Anine Rabe (born 21 November 1992) is a Norwegian former figure skater. She is a three-time silver medalist at the Norwegian Figure Skating Championships, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Anne Line Gjersem (born 6 January 1994) is a Norwegian retired figure skater. She is the 2015 Nordic silver medalist, the 2015 Denkova-Staviski Cup bronze medalist, and a three-time Norwegian national champion. She represented Norway at the 2014 Winter Olympics and has reached the free skate at six ISU Championships. Joshi Helgesson (born 7 June 1993) is a Swedish retired figure skater. She is the 2014 Bavarian Open champion, 2011 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist, and three-time Swedish national champion.
