2013 New Jersey Elections
A general election was held in the U.S. state of New Jersey on November 5, 2013. Primary elections were held on June 4. Every state position was up in this election cycle, which includes all 80 seats in the New Jersey General Assembly and all 40 seats in the New Jersey Senate, Senate, as well as Governor of New Jersey, Governor and Lieutenant Governor. In addition to the State Legislative elections, numerous List of counties in New Jersey, county offices and Board of chosen freeholders, freeholders in addition to List of municipalities in New Jersey, municipal offices were up for election. Vincent Prieto (born September 11, 1960) is an American Democratic Party politician. He served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2004 to 2018, where he represented the 32nd Legislative District. He formerly served as the 170th Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly from 2014 to 2018. Jon M. Bramnick (born February 24, 1953) is an American Republican Party politician, who has served in the New Jersey Senate since 2022, representing the 21st legislative district. He previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 21st Legislative District from 2003 to 2022, He also previously served as the Assembly Republican Leader from January 2012 to January 2022. Sheila Y. Oliver (born July 14, 1952) is an American politician serving as the second lieutenant governor of New Jersey since 2018. She previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2004 to 2018, where she represented the 34th legislative district while also serving as the Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly for two terms, from January 12, 2010, to January 14, 2014, as a member of the Democratic Party. Thomas Howard Kean Jr. ( ; born September 5, 1968) is an American Republican politician and the U.S. representative-elect from New Jersey's 7th congressional district. From 2001 until 2003, he was a New Jersey General Assemblyman, representing the 21st legislative district, which includes parts of Union, Morris, Somerset, and Essex counties.
